Don't Want To Sell But Need $$$$$$$ WOW - WHAT A FIND and what a BARGAIN - IT'S MAGNIFICENT !!! PLEASE, DO NOT BID AS A JOKE. Listed again because 2 e-bay BIDDERS bought the car and then NEVER wrote again. I am selling because I have property taxes due or my house goes away, so don't play with bidding.... You are bidding on this ORIGINAL 1979 Datsun 280 ZX 2+2 with 55,000 original miles.... The car has only had two owners. The original owner lived 2 miles from me and I admired the car for years, trying to buy it on many occasions. Last spring the original owner moved to their retirement home in Florida and I was able to beg, borrow and steal enough funds to buy my dream car. Finances now force me to sell. Original manuals and window stickers included and show that the car was ordered with the Black / Gold Accent Package plus it originally came with the added bonus of the Grand Luxury Package also which included the 5X5 push button stereo, power windows, cruise control, rear window wiper / washer, raised white letter tires, cloth upholstery, computer sensor system, remote passenger door mirror and door map pockets. And the 1979 original sticker price, only $13,422.00. The car is virtually rust free, always a Michigan car and you must be wondering just how it has survived ? The story is 100% accurate, I know the history of the car that comes with all original manuals and original build sheet and invoice (window sticker) and car cover. Three years ago the original owner had a new headliner installed (identical to original), had the clutch serviced, new tires, general tune-up and took care of all needs aside from revamping the air. He said that he spent about $3000.00 at that time. I bought a new battery last fall. The tires have under 2000 miles on them. The only things I've found that doesn't work as it should is the 8 track player and the air conditioning. Starts and drives like a 280 ZX should. The interior has no real damage, only wear and slight soiling on some areas of the seats and carpets. The dash is crack free, 100%. I have NOT had a professional cleaning done, obviously it would shine and gleam much more if detailed out. The history is this - when the car had 40,000 miles on it the original owner fell asleep at the wheel and scuffed the passenger side and hood area has the auto went into the median of I-75. The car was repaired but the owner wasn't satisfied with the paint job so he purchased another auto to drive and sent the ZX back to a highly qualified painter. It was repainted again, this time original black but instead of stickers for the stripes, he requested that the stripes be painted on. That was back in 1986 or so and the car remained garaged since, being driven only in summers and even then, very rarely. I don't hesitate to say that with a new muffler and tailpipe, this car could be driven from my home to yours, fly in and drive it home... One week before selling the car to me, the owner fell from a ladder, hitting the drivers side front fender ( see pics ). My body man says it could be bumped out but the best solution would be a new / old stock replacement. The car runs, starts and drives great. It is needing a new muffler and tail pipe and new owner, otherwise, other than the cosmetics, the only thing I would suggest as needs would be shocks / struts. It is real fun to drive, never fails you and has all of the buttons and whistles to make it a special automobile. I encourage ALL questions, phone calls and hands on inspection by interested buyers or paid agents for potential buyers. The buyer is responsible for pickup from zip 48706 where it can remain stored for 45 days free of charge..
