Vehicle Detail
Great, original 1968 Roadrunner hardtop. The real deal. Fender tag confirms its a hard top Roadrunner (not a clone) which came with a 383 automatic in LL1 Surf Turquoise, which is, in my opinion the prettiest color Mopar ever offered on a B Body. With over $35,000 invested, I will start the bidding at a ridiculously low $16,000. (See videos of the car below.) Here are the highlights of this Roadrunner: Factory LL1 Surf Turquoise car that has just had its first repaint. Carpet pulled back and floorpans are solid with no rust. Factory 383/727 car that has an all new drivetrain. You couldn't build your own car for what the car will sell for. Body numbers match the fender tag that is still present. Body- Car just had new paint job. Over 18 hours spent buffing and polishing. Smooth all the way around. It is the factory LL1 Turquoise. Not many turquoise cars out there. Has nice grille and rear tail panel. Front and Rear bumpers are newly rechromed. Hood blackout stripe on hood. Professionally restored tail panel at a cost of $600. Only the center trunk pan has very slight pitting. Engine- 383 HP motor is brand new. No used parts. A complete overhaul and the motor is .30 over. Rebuild was done with driveability in mind and is a very strong but mild 383. Has Comp Cams camshaft, double roller timing chain, 10-1 pistons, rebuilt 906 heads with hardened seats, edelbrock performer intake, edelbrock 600 carb, HP exhaust manifolds. Less than 100 miles on the motor. Every piece on the motor and firewall has been replaced. All belts, hoses, sensors, switches, cables, wiring harness , washer bottle, etc has all been replaced. Transmission- Rebuilt 727 with new torque converter. Torque converter is is a 440 HP. Tranny shifts smooth and runs great. Driveline- Original driveline was balanced and both ujoints were replaced. Rear end- Original 3.23 suregrip inside of 8 3/4 mopar rear end. Brakes- All new shoes and wheel cylinders along with master cylinder. Brakes were bled and stop fine. Suspension- All newly rebuilt with new shocks, bushings, ball joints, tie rods, idler, tie rod sleeves. Exhaust- All new exhaust was recently installed (not shown in pics) with new mufflers, hangers, and B body tips. Fuel- New gas tank, sending unit, fuel hose, fuel filter, ground strap and fuel pump. Cooling- New water pump, radiator, hoses and thermostat. Electrical- New engine wiring harness with new electronic ignition and distributor. Has factory tach (not working.) Windshield wipers, wiper washer, flashers, turn signals, horn, cigar lighter, brake lights, headlights, tail lights, dome lamp, etc all working properly. Interior- All new interior. Bucket seats with a column shift. New seat covers, carpet, headliner, dash cap, package tray, dome lens, and trunk mat. Original door panels are in excellent condition with nice arm rests and bezels. Weather stripping- All new roof, door and trunk weather strip. Everything seals really well. Also has new end seals and door ends as well. Underside- Factory undercoat car and is absolutely in excellent condition. Very clean. You wont find a cleaner underneath. Tires- BFG tires all the way around with Magnum 500 Road wheels. What it needs. If I were going to keep the car and take it to the next level: The prior owner just painted the car, however its not a show quality paint job. There are some paint drips on the car and while it looks great from 10 feet, it is not a 100 point show quality paint job. If you are looking for a nice driver, no need to change a thing. The gas gauge and tach recently stopped working. Not sure why as the tank and sending unit are new. There is some pitting on the gauge cluster bezel and the dash does not light up.
