Vehicle Detail
Updated 9-22-13I have increased the Buy it Now price and I will consider all offers!Hey everyone! I have been totally up front and honest with everyone that has inquired about the Roadmaster. I have owned the car for 13 years, it was purchased used from our local Pontiac Dealership and I spoke with the original owners too. The car has been babied since I took ownership, all fluids have been changed at regular intervals, shocks, brakes, (wear items) etc. have been replaced with quality replacement parts. I use only the best oil, trans fluid, etc. This car cost over $25,000 new and I paid a considerable amount for it when I purchased it in 2000. I purchased it with 80,000 miles on the odometer and it now has 108,071...that's about 5,400 per year. I am beginning to think the best way to sell this car would be to do the deal in person. I have answered all questions that have been asked, I have sent additional pictures but when it's all said and done, this is still an almost 21 year old car, it's not perfect! I have done the research and many of these old wagons are selling for considerably more than my Buy it Now price (when it was $4800.00) and they have 150-300,000 miles on them and the interior and exterior are in poor shape. Many have made the comment "it doesn't have the LT1 so it's not worth as much", I was a mechanic for 20+ years and that's why I wouldn't own the LT1 with the OptiSpark ignition system. Not to mention I prefer the 20-25 MPG:) They do not produce these wagons anymore and the clean one are getting harder to find.My 100% positive feedback should speak for itself, I have been using Ebay since the late 90's and have never had a complaint. The A/C & rear window will be repaired & I will be listing this (in addition to CL) wagon on Ebay Classifieds at auction end. I really do appreciate everyone's interest.Last Time it was listed on Ebay the reserve wasn't met so this time I am dropping the price and offering it at a Buy It Now. The vehicle will be sold at our Estate Auction if the Buy it Now isn't met or Best offer isn't accepted. Thank you for checking out our listing! 1993 Buick Roadmaster "Estate Wagon" ----2nd owner (purchased in 2000), low mileage (108,071) that's about 5,500 per year! Has all of the bells and whistles and has been well cared for. Last major service was done @ 92,000 miles. The oil and filter have been changed @ 3,000-4,000 miles and I used 10W-30 Valvoline oil. All maintenance and replacement parts have been AC/Delco. New shocks, brakes, alternator, radiator (Modine), water pump, thermostat, etc. Interior and exterior are in great shape for a 20 year old car. Never been involved in an accident. 9 passenger wagon w/ moonroof, leather, auto lamps, cruise control, luggage rack, electronic climate control, power everything; tan exterior w/wood grain and tan leather interior. GM's bulletproof 350 engine (TBI not the multi-port) and it gets 20-25 mpg on the hwy w/overdrive! The only reason we are letting go of the wagon is we are at a point where we need to downsize, we have 7 vehicles and two licensed drivers at home! I promise you will not be disappointed with this vehicle. I'm sure most of you know they don't build them like this anymore; these things are built like a tank and are super dependable. This would be the perfect car for a sleeper project or make your own custom station wagon...this would be a solid platform to start with. This car is in great shape for its age and it has low miles, if you need great dependable transportation, this is the car for you. I have always owned a station wagon, they are great for children, outings, towing, long trips, etc. My old 1983 Caprice Classic Wagon had 240,000 miles on it and was still running strong when I sold it. The Good: Mechanically in great shape! No leaks! Runs like a top! Interior and exterior in great shape. Unbeatable ride...like sitting in your recliner at home. 9 passenger plus room for luggage, supplies, etc. Heavy, full frame vehicle that will keep you and your passengers safe. Drivers side airbag. (I have had several people inquire about the "ABSOLUTELY NO RUST STATEMENT" and would like to clarify what I mean when I say no rust) I will gladly send pictures of the under carriage to any prospective buyers. Now as far as rust goes, there is surface rust on the driveshaft, rear axle, some bolts, some on the frame (where the undercoating peeled off), rotors, drums, etc. Anyone that has ever worked on cars or bought a new car knows on all cars there are items that are not undercoated or painted from the factory and they get a little surface rust on them (my son's brand new 2013 Mustang GT has some surface rust under it). There are items that heat up and cool off IE: muffler. resonator, rotors, drums, etc. it's normal for these items to have surface rust too. This car does not have the "northern rot," it has never seen snow or salted roads and no cancerous rot. NO RUST IN THE QUARTER PANELS, WHEEL WELLS, DOOR PILLARS, DOORS, SPARE TIRE WELL, AROUND WINDOWS, ETC. BUT YES, THERE IS SURFACE RUST IN SOME PLACES UNDER THE CAR. NOTHING SERIOUS OR UNCOMMON ON A 20+ YEAR OLD CAR:) ALSO WHEN I WENT TO MVD TO GET A NEW TITLE FOR THE WAGON, I FORGOT TO CHECK THE ACTUAL MILEAGE, RATHER THAN MAKE ANOTHER TRIP I GUESSED AT THE MILEAGE AND I WAS OFF BY 921 MILES:) THE ACTUAL MILEAGE IS 108,071 BUT THE TITLE SHOWS 109,000. I WOULD JUST GO WITH THE 109,000 WHEN YOU REGISTER IT SO THERE AREN'T ANY ODOMETER QUESTIONS DOWN THE ROAD. Michelin Tires with good tread! etc. Bad: Some of the trim/molding are starting to show the age ...a few cracks/weathered looking. A/C works great if you add Freon! The compressor shaft seal leaks (slowly) and I got tired of adding a can of Freon every Spring so I just quit adding and I ride with the windows down. New compressor or shaft seal, evacuate and recharge and you’re ready to go! Left rear electric window needs to be repaired....a simple fix.VEHICLE IS FOR SALE LOCALLY AND I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION EARLY IF I HAVE A LOCAL BUYER.EBAY CHARGES A SUCCESSFUL LISTING FEE AND PAYPAL/BILL ME LATER CHARGES ANOTHER 2.9% SO PLEASE CONTACT ME FIRST IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO USE PAYPAL OR BILL ME LATER. I KNOW BILL ME LATER WILL GIVE YOU SEVERAL MONTHS INTEREST FREE BUT AS THE SELLER I MAY REQUIRE YOU TO PAY THE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH BILL ME LATER. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING. I am also willing to (if these two small issues concern you) repair the A/C and the rear door window if the buyer is willing to pay for the parts....I will supply the labor for free. Cost for the compressor, accumulator, orifice, and Freon would be around $350.00 I do have access to R-12 freon but its not cheap. All parts will be AC Delco. just thought I would put that out there. The a/c works great for 12 months if you just add freon every year! The leak is slow and it is the compressor shaft seal. It will take a full price offer (buy it now) & $350.00 for me to repair these two items. Thanks:)
