1966 Chevrolet Impala ConvertibleOn Jul-26-13 at 20:48:59 PDT, seller added the following information: 1966 Chevrolet Impala convertible. This is my daily driver and I will continue to drive it until it is sold so the mileage given above will not reflect the actual mileage the odometer will read when the new owner takes possession. Another note on the mileage: While the odometer reads 41,173, I believe it has exceded its mechanical limits and the actual mileage is 141,173. I have more pictures at my Flickr account http://www.flickr.com/photos/92077093@N07/ I have also recorded some videos to my youtube account. The URL's for those are as follows: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8b_Vkeb8cQI&feature=youtu.be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaUljTF6QgU&feature=youtu.be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zR5vje-Sx1o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3f8--ICH2zw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HA-9rLbGQ_U The Videos titled "Impala test drive" and "Impala brake test" (I meant reverse test) were recorded a few months ago. The Sherburne County trip was last week. Full written description to follow. On Jul-27-13 at 19:09:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Up for auction is a 1966 Chevy Impala which I have owned since 2006. It needs work to be a show car but is driven daily. The car is NOT a Super sport, but the previous owner had started a clone project and installed a center console and bucket seats. The seats are from a 1967 model year Impala but will serve as an accurate core if you choose to reupholster in the 66 pattern. The steering column has no shift mechansim and I believe was also salvaged from an SS. The top and header seal are a year old and the mechanism goes up and down fine. It will need a well liner installed. The engine is a small block V8. I was told it was a 1968 307. The car starts and runs well and does not smoke excessively, but I do have to add oil between changes. It has the wrong length chrome dipstick and the crankcase is actually full when it is at the "add" mark. It has a new vacuum advance. The ignition system has been upgraded to HEI. The charging system has been upgraded to an internally regulated 10SI alternator. I have upgraded the brakes to a later model dual well master cylinder for safety. The transmission is a Powerglide. The forward gears work fine. I have felt slippage in reverse when hot but always moved car. (see video) Transmission is from a column shift car with an adapter. PRNDL don't line up perfectly. I count the clicks. Front end pulls to the right. I also demonstarte this on the test drive video. Interior: The seats are ripped. Drivers seat really bad. I took the seat belts from the back and put them in front so no rear seat belts. It has woodgrain on the dash and steering wheel. The I and M are missing from the glove box emblem. carpet is worn. The blinker switch is new but still tempermental on right turns. Light finger pressure gets the front blinker blinking. Ashtray is missing from the console. Aftermarket AM FM cassette installed. Radio works, haven't tried cassette. Older photos may show the wrong speaker grill. I have the correct one on there now. The wipers work, but not the washers. May just need hoses. The cigarette lighter doesn't work. Body and exterior: I do have many pictures on Flickr but will be adding some recent ones here once the weather clears. The paint is seriously faded. Rust issues should be evident in the photos. The worst is under the rear quarter window on the drivers side. The drain hole was clogged with debris but I cleaned it out when I did the top. If there is a particular area you would like a photo of, let me know. The tires are different brands and worn. Balancing may help smooth out the ride at 70 MPH. The hubcaps don't match side to side. The frame has some rust under the drivers door, but I have noticed no body flex. The previous owner added Caprice tail light bezels. This is a dependable running car that I drive the heck out of. I get many thumbs up when I drive it and always a conversation starter at the gas station partially I think because it is obviously not babied. I have seen 4 door sedans and convertibles that have been sitting in farmers fields with much worse deterioration with higher asking prices than my opening bid. Insurance is coming due in mid August and once the high school down the street starts again in September, parking will once again be tight. The car has been good to me but it's time for it to go. I am willing to drive the car anywhere in the twin cities metro area if it will help reduce the cost of shipping for you. I am working from memory and as things occur to me I will add to the listing. Feel free to ask any questions. I will respect your privacy and not post questions directly to Ebay but will add the answer to the listing if I feel other people might find the information helpful. My phone number is 651 698 8103. Thank YouOn Jul-28-13 at 18:51:07 PDT, seller added the following information: I did get a chance to take some photos today so all photos with the exception of the 1st one (used as the gallery photo) were taken Sunday July 28. I did wash the exterior but as you can see I did not get a chance to vacuum or detail the interior. I found some more issues thatd eserve mentioning. The windshield is scratched. I suspect I used a snow shovel as an ice scraper at one time. It is hard to photograph but I am going to try and get the scratches out and then attempt to photograph. The Visors are ripped along the seams. If you look carefully in the dashboard photo you can see the gasket is slipping into the viewing area near the clock and fuel gauge. Also there is NO JACK OR HARDWARE in the trunk. I was using a small floor jack I borrowed and I can't include it with the sale.On Jul-30-13 at 18:52:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Another video of frame, top, doors, etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZJ3XvgqZNk&feature=c4-overview&list=UUNJAbhYiC_KkjZN55f_kv1A
