Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a beautiful 1958 Buick Special Convertible. Only 14 miles have been put on this Buick, since the restoration. A frame on restoration was completed in 2003. Re chrome bumpers, tail light, front marker light assembly, and continental kit, all look new. All bright work looks fresh, except there is some light pitting on the original roll up window frames. (can not be seen in the pictures) All glass is good and the windows roll up and down as they should. The body was very straight, so very little body work had to be done. No rust in the floor pans, turn, or body panels, as most convertibles do. The two tone blue paint, looks as good as it did ten years ago, with no dings or scrapes. The power top has only been raised a few times, because the car was shown with the top down, but it works well. The interior looks nice in its tow tone, and the dash is nice. This Buick is running wide white walls, and has six Skylark style wire wheels, that were an option in 1958. The 58 Buick had the most chrome and stainless of any car to date, and it has the 160 bullet grill that is perfect. All doors shut easy, and all body fits are good. This car was rumored to have been pulled from the assembly line, to be the New York new car showing show car. The low production number, and the factory custom continental kit, believed to be one of a kind, adds to the stores that have been told about the car. After the new car showing's it may have been given to Harley Earl for a driver. We have tried to verify by the serial number, but there are no records to prove it. The engine has about 34K miles on it, and it starts and runs great. The car has been sitting in a collection, ran occasionally, but not driven. The car has power steering, power brakes, wonder bar radio, but the wander bar dose not work. All lights, and heater work as they should. Only 5502 Special convertible's were produced in 1958. Buyer is responsible for shipping and all shipping costs. We will help with loading on our end and in anyway we can. for questions please call Bill (208)750-0000
