Vehicle Detail

This is a re-list due to the winning bidder being a "nervous-nellie" and didn't seem to be able to make his mind up if he wanted it after he won the auction - obviously folks, that is not how this works. Please bid with confidence and expect to follow through with the purchase if you win. 1972 Honda CB-750 K2. Frame number: CB750-2003825. Engine number: CB750E-2011518. Manufactured date of 11/71. 7371 original miles. I had restored this for the original owner and when I had finished the restoration, he dedcided he was too old to be riding. I ended up buying the bike from him and due to lack of finances, must sell it. The 800 miles I have put on the bike has been a blast! The bike is professionally tuned and starts instantly, idles, shifts and runs out like a new one - NO ISSUES! The original owner had these 4-into-2 type mufflers installed (w/stock head pipes) when the stock pipes started rotting - most likely from short rides. You may experience some occassional backfiring only during decelleration and only when it is hot outside. Very normal. The paint is truly brilliant. It looks somewhat washed out in the pictures - not as good as it does in person. The paint is an original Honda color, but not from 1972. It is code YR539P - Sunset Orange Pearl. Depending on light conditions, it can be difficult to tell if it is a gold bike or an orange one. I included direct sunlight pictures along with shade pictures to show the different looks this paint will give off. It uses a silver pearl base like the original Candy Gold paint, but with a fine metallic flake, so it seems to "flop" from gold to orange. The inside of the tank is perfect, never creamed or coated. You will have a difficult time finding any rust specks on the bike. Only the rear spokes have some light corrosion, but not anything heavy - it may be removable with a good cleaning. No rust on the rims or other chrome. The aftermarket 4-into-2 exhaust has some rust where their headers meet the mufflers. The guage faces have been replaced with the correct K2 repro pieces. The originals had minimal crazing (fine cracks) like most originals do at this age. The bike has new vintage style tires with new tubes, heavy duty chain and both front and rear NOS Honda sprockets. Also new carb to air box boots and fuel lines. I also put in new fiber clutch plates with new heavier than stock springs. New full carb kits, original looking seat cover and a new right side switch. Complete front brake rebuild with new pads and new rear brake shoes. The brakes work excellent! The front brake master cylinder retains it's original paint top cap decal. New NOS clutch cable with proper grey lower adjuster cover. I installed a rare vintage 55/60W Carello Halogen headlight. It retains the stock looking rounded lens compared to the newer flat style halogen lenses. It has a new "sealed" type battery. I installed a new set of the lower K0/K1 stock handlebars (original bars are too high for my taste). The bike has new Honda early '80's era comfortable grips. All electrics and lights work perfect including the turn signal beeper and the left switch beeper cancel button. The original owner had changed the ignition switch at some point, but that key will also open the seat lock - the seat lock is not damaged or compromised. The bike retains it's original mirrors which are in excellent condition. The rear fender still has the cone shaped rubber that cushions the license tag. Many of the bolts/nuts still have some of the factory yellow "torque check" verification paint on them. The complete original tool kit and owners manual are included. I added an extra 12mm/10mm Honda combo wrench to the kit, as the original kit does not come with a 10mm wrench. I will continue to do short rides on the bike, so milage may be higher when sold. The bike needs nothing and is a "turn-key" unit. The buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements. I can assist in loading or meeting your shipper if needed. Do not expect to try to renegotiate a different price when you come to pick it up (if not shipped). The buy it now and reserve are very realistic for the times and condition. This is an honest listing with lots of pictures to see what you are buying. Clear title, Sold As-Is with No Warranty. Thanks for looking!
