Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1968 Chrysler Newport. This car has recently received a significant restoration. Engine and tranny have been rebuilt and body has been stripped and painted with Dupont 2-stage Turquoise metallic (original color). The vehicle runs and drives great. I have driven the vehicle on several long trips including Drag Week 2011 (1,100 miles) as a spectator. You can fly into Kansas City Intl. Airport and drive this car home. Here is a list of the parts replaced: Engine overhaul included bearings, rings, oil pump, timing set, cam shaft, lifters, water pump..etc. Heads are 906 castings and received new valve guides and hardened seats. Transmission is a 727 and was rebuilt with all new seals, clutches, steels, bands, and front pump. All brakes shoes, wheels cylinders, and hoses were replaced front and rear. New Master cylinder and booster were also installed. Rear diff (non-posi) was serviced with new seals and front hub bearings were replaced. New 17" Boyd Aluminum wheels ride on Goodyear F-1 z-rated radials. Interior received new carpet, window fuzzies, gauges (oil, temp, Volts) and mini-tach. Stock gauges work but I like to see numbers not Low and High. New windshield was installed along with new white vinyl top just like the original. In addition, the car received new high output alternator, new fan clutch, new u joints, new full dual exhaust, new battery, new starter, new idler arm, new belts, hoses, points & condensor, and trunk seal. I think you get the picture. The interior has been cleaned up but is in the same shape I found it in. The previous owner had the seats recovered (old covers still underneath the current vinyl) and a new headliner installed. The seats are in good condition but have some discoloration from age. I would replace the seat covers if I was going to keep it. The car has power steering, power brakes, and A/C. All of the A/C components are intact and compressor turns free but I have not charged it and suspect some lines and seals would need to be replaced after so many years. Minimal rust was found during restoration and all was cut-out and metal welded in. There are 2 small rust spots on the rear bumper...see pics. Spare tire in trunk pic is not included...it belongs to another vehicle but I will include a steel wheel/tire. Car gets many compliments and is a joy to drive. I am not overly excited about selling but I need to make room for a roadrunner and need to free up some cash. My buy it now price does not even cover my parts investment so my loss is your gain.
