Vehicle Detail

~ 1966 PONTIAC LeMans ~ ~ Original PONTIAC "all-syncro" 3 speed w/HURST LINKAGE manual Transmission very Rare ~ This is a California 'Muscle Car' Survivor! Ready for restoration; or basic wrenching to make it a 'crowd pleaser' rough daily driver. I acquired PONTIAC from a older gentleman who swears it ran and drove fine when he parked it. I intended to fix up and keep; or sell. Things change. Offered on this auction is a 1966 LeMans with the original floor mounted HURST shifter, 3 speed Manual Transmission. The engine turns over and has a nice cadence. The coil is missing, and engine will need spark plug wires. No exhaust system beyond the manifold exit pipes, (Dual exhaust) I would also recommend flushing the fuel system stem to stern, rebuilding the 2 barrel carburetor. The Transmission shifts smooth and car wants to respond to appropriate gear when turning engine over with Tran's engaged. Will need complete brake job, new tires, battery. A project car. They are not going to build any more of these fine pieces of Americana. So I trust someone will see this beauty for what it will be and buys this 1966 LeMans . Frame is straight, some rust issues in trunk pan, and on both front fenders, behind tires (small holes>pictured) Included in sale is 90% + of all chrome trim. Was removed by former owner for painting prep. 'LeMans' rear fender Chrome logos are missing. Yet I have all 18 front Chrome louvers (pictured) and most all the rest. This 66 will need to be wenched or pushed onto transport trailer as it does not run yet. That will be Your job. ~ Thank You for interest. Car and I are located in Northern California directly off the I-5 corridor. I am experienced at assisting with transport...eBay message me or call me (Josh) with any questions. 530-945-0733On Jun-30-13 at 16:05:20 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a few questions that a vin # decode will answer. = 2= (Pontiac) 37 = (Tempest LeMans) 17 = (2 door Coupe) 6 = 1966 K = (mfg. in Kansas City M.O.) A few more questions as to weather it is a 'positraction' rear end. According to the 10 bolt, 8 and 1/2 inch plate on differential, it is. Then I jacked car up and when I rotate one tire the other goes in opposite direction, so that would say no. Then an old timer buddy of mine showed up and said it is Positraction and that this year of Pontiac PosiTrany kicks into Posi. under a torch load...? So I still do not truely know. I will pull plate and visually inspect if rear end true identification is a deal breaker. Respectfully: Josh
