Vehicle Detail

Unfortunately it is time to part with some of my toys to make room for more... see my other listings for my '95 MB G-Wagen in the pictures. Incredibly rare, this 1991 E31 BMW 850i with a 5.0 liter V12 and 6-speed manual transmission is one of under 600 brought to the US with this combination. Drawing longing looks and lots of attention everywhere we go, people are amazed that she is 22 years old. With 140,032 miles on the clock, I have averaged under 4000 miles per year in my 10+ years of ownership... she really wants/needs/deserves to be driven far more than I do. The Diamond Schwartz Metallic exterior underwent a full panel-off repaint back in 2003 shortly after I purchased the car, and it still shines beautifully. The Silbergrau grey interior was also replaced at the same time, but the driver's seat is showing signs of wear/sun fade/cracking that could be easily repaired/replaced. The staggered M-parallel wheels are shod with nearly new 245/40/18's in the front and 275/35/18's in the rear. The stereo has been completely, professionally reworked - JVC headunit with DVD, Bluetooth, iPod, XM etc. plus all Kicker speakers with components up front, coaxials in the rear, with two SoloBarics and two amps in the trunk - with 1200 watts of power, this system rocks. Xenon Stage II low beams are installed, as are Dinan performance chips. I just returned home from a 1500 mile road trip along the East Coast, where she cruised effortlessly at a steady 80mph eating up the highway miles and also managed the inevitable stop-and-go DC traffic without issue. Also managed a very respectable 19.7mpg on the trip thanks in large part to the very tall 6th gear (2200rpm at 80mph) and wonderfully slippery shape. Known issues are few and minor. The driver's side window 'auto-drop' function (window lowers slightly when opening door, then goes back up to seal when closed) isn't quite working right... the window goes back up shortly after opening the door, so you need to pull the handle again before closing the door. There is also a small electrical discharge at all times, so if you don't run her for a couple weeks her batteries will be dead - both batteries were replaced in March. The computer display has three columns of dead pixels. Also, 'Tail Light Failure' displays most of the time on the computer despite not having a tail light failure (rarely other light failure displays instead), mechanic thinks it's the LKM Light Control Module but it's a minor annoyance so I didn't fix. Very slow leak of hydraulic brake booster/power steering fluid, requires top up every 3000 miles or so as the power steering will start to whine. I keep a bottle of the special Pentosin CHF 7.1 fluid where the CD changer used to be in the trunk in case I am away from home when it needs topped up. Sunroof won't open, a tooth broke on one of the slides - I have new parts (which I will include) but never used the sunroof anyway so I completely forgot to have it looked at last couple times it was in the shop. Recent major services on top of the new batteries as stated above are:Master Cylinder and Washer Pump in August 2012Rear Pinion Seal, A/C Switch, and Control Arm Bushings in August 2011 Heater Core in June 2009A/C Compressor in November 2008Clutch (at 131k miles) and Water Pump in December 2006 Freshly waxed and detailed, she is ready for a loving home where her owner can take her out to dinner far more often than I am able.
