Vehicle Detail

I bought this bike about 6-7 years ago to restore. It has always run, even after sitting for 4 months. I started it this morning before listing it. I have ridden it a few times a year around the island I live on. The bike is in decent shape, especially if you want a restore, but it can ridden as is and always gets a lot of attention wherever you go on it. Some chrome on the front alternator cover, air filter has polished aluminum strip. When I first got the bike I took it to Bob's BMW in Jessup Maryland for a complete going over, valve adjustment, etc. I have ridden it less than 100 miles since then. Included in the auction is another used tank in good condition, a brand new luggage rack for the back fender, a new seat (you can see in the pics the old seat needs replacing), new kick start lever, used extra shift lever, owners manual, workshop manual, extra foot peg rubbers, 3 keys, 2 with BMW fobs and wrench for tool kit on tank. Lights work, brakes work, transmission shifts fine, tires ok with good tread but may need replacing if you were going to ride it a lot, I don't know their age, has original hand air pump attached to frame and original tool kit. The steering dampner says this was from the BMW dealer in Colorado Springs, Colorado, see pic. Clean Maryland title. Matching frame and engine numbers. I simply do not have the time to restore it and have decided to sell it. Motorcycling like it used to be!!!! No real leaks other than a few drops of oil over a six month time frame of sitting in one spot. It is fun to cruise on. I am starting with a low 1st bid and no reserve. I am fine with letting the market decide value. Most people that want a R26, will see that this one is in pretty good shape. The extra tank, seat and luggage rack cost hundreds of dollars by themselves. Regarding shipping. I am willing to work with the transport company YOU find and set up to get the bike and ship to you. My research shows you can ship a bike for approximately the $600 range to most parts of the U.S. I am not particularly interested in selling outside the U.S, however if you are in another country and interested, email me and we can discuss transport. To reinforce - I WILL NOT SET UP SHIPPING. YOU MUST DO THAT. I will be on this end to assure pick up. All funds for payment MUST CLEAR before I will let the bike go. I am selling this as is and will not take returns, I have been as open and honest in my description as possible. Look at the pictures, email me with any questions and I'll do my best to answer. I am a life long motorcycle rider with many miles on the road. This is a fun bike, but it is not a new, hot technology ride. If you want low a maintenance machine, buy a new bike, this is a vintage ride. Sweet but vintage! On Jul-06-13 at 03:04:30 PDT, seller added the following information: The bike has both a center stand and side stand. Both work fine.
