1970 Honda CB

I am the third owner of this Honda. Bought from a young man who said he owned it a few years and had purchased it from the original owner on Alameda where the bike was bought new back in 1970 from Powell's Alameda Honda. Bike looks to have been well maintained by original owner and a little less so by previous owner,but all in all this cb is an excellent runner and prime candidate for a frame off restoration.Hopefully not a cafe conversion. Since purchasing it I have installed bronze swing arm bushings and tapered steering head bearings,cleaned and synched carbs and adjusted points.Have not done valves or checked engine compression,but she starts easily with starter or kick and runs strong. Bike looks like it may have gone down at low speed as there are some scuffs on headlight ring and front fender.I also replaced alternator cover and turn signal lens on left side. The side covers have been chromed but i bought another set to paint. The paint on tank is quite nice,one little quarter size blemish but no dents or dings,I flushed it once and its quite clean but could use another if you want it pristine. some fading on headlight bucket but not cracked. Seat has a few 1" tears in front and right side I tig welded a stainless steal patch on right side muffler along bottom,I do have another muffler thats not perfect but doesnt have any rust and will be included. I put in a shorai sealed battery that works awesome and is amazingly light weight. Comes with owners manual and original factory manual. Has Dunlop TT's few years old but not cracked or excessively hard. Rebuilt front brake with new piston washer,piston is fine no pitting,pads are new. Would love to keep her as these bikes hold their value and are a significant part of Honda's amazing history but the shop is too full of unfinished projects.
