This “138’’ SS Chevelle first sold in Lawton Oklahoma. Attached with the photos are original retail order form and sales contract from Phillips Aubrey Chevrolet in Lawton. We have a stack of receipts for parts and service done over the years. The motor is not matching numbers, but is a ’67 Camaro block, rebuilt and bored 30 over. We still drive with the original Muncie 4 speed. (Date code on transmission states September 1966 build date) Also has , 12 bolt rear and 331 gears and original radiator. The car has spent most of its life around Bryan, Texas. In the 3 years that we have owned this black on red Chevelle, it’s gotten new fuel & water pumps, Ken Harrison stereo, Coker redlines, all new exhaust, new springs and shocks. We’ve also replaced the old quadrajet with a new Stage 2 quadrajet, MSD coil and ignition box. The gas tank has also been replaced…….The car runs really well. The original red interior buckets and back seat have been recovered, along with the headliner and carpet. The paint is “driver” quality and steel rims with bowtie hubcaps bring more attention to the “sleeper” muscle car than aftermarket wheels.
