Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 with factory lockers. The truck runs and drives but I am essentially listing it for parts. It has 221k miles on it. The truck has spent most, if not all, of its life in Northeast Ohio and it has rust. It has rust through the driver side floor board and rear hatch by the window and various bubbles of rust over the truck and the front bumper brackets are rusted. The frame has rust on it but there is no rust through on the frame. It leaks when it rains somewhere as the floor board gets wet on the drivers side, hence the rust through. It has the typical rear seal leak but it is a fairly good leak now. We put a quart of oil in it every two weeks or so. Radiator was leaking on the top side but I put stop leak in it and it has been holding. There are also leaks from what looks like the power steering lines up front. The hood will only stay up on its own for a few minutes as the struts are worn. The check engine light comes on and off. We were told it is due to needing O2 sensors. The airbag light is on too. It seems to be sluggish now when pulling up hills. Despite all of that, it starts up and drives. My 70 year old Mom was driving it until just a couple weeks ago as I finally got her to part with it. I bought it as a second owner with about 42k miles or so on it. We never took it off road and we’ve never been in an accident with it. The IPF lights don’t work all the time so a wire might be loose. It has an OME lift kit on it with steering stabilizer. The tires are 285’s so I put the speedo gear in it to account for the bigger tires. I installed the non-US idle cable too. I have the center diff lock switch but never installed it. I have the factory amber front marker light covers too. The spare tire is gone as we had to cut the chain that holds it to get it out a while back. The interior is ok. Radio seems to be going and the wood trim is peeling here and there. Power windows still work but are slow. Power seats still work too. A/C is still cold but we’ve had it recharged it seems every other year or so, so it is leaking very very slowly. We disconnected the rear heater. Anyway, I think it should be thought of as a parts truck or a trail conversion opportunity. It could be driven home but I wouldn’t risk it for more than 100 miles from 44141. Feel free to make a cash offer as I have it informally listed for sale locally. As it is for sale locally, I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time without notice and for any reason. This vehicle obviously does not have any warranty, express or implied and is being offered for sale as an as-is, where is, used vehicle. I live in Chagrin Falls so the ad is posted from here but the truck is currently in Brecksville, Ohio (44141). I have clear Ohio title in-hand. You will be required to pay any sales tax, transfer taxes, registration fees or any other fees to register or transfer the vehicle. We request, via Paypal, a non-refundable deposit of $50.00 within 48 hours of the close of the auction. The balance is due in cash or certified funds and we will not transfer title until the funds clear. Regardless of what the eBay auction page may state, Paypal is for the deposit only. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
