Vehicle Detail

Selling an original 1975 Honda CB750K that needs to be restored, but can be ridden as-is until the owner decides to. I have owned the bike for a year and have put only a few miles on it during that time. It ran pretty rough (barely ran) when I got it, and it needed to have the carbs cleaned out and points set to get it to run well. It has a new battery and literally starts within a second or two when it's cold. It accellerates well and goes through the gears smoothly, rides well on its original shocks, and stops reasonably well (front brake is a bit grabby from sitting for a long time). I found the original owner's manual tucked in its original location under the seat (the guy I bought it from didn't even know it was there). It was sold new at Lockport Honda in Lockport, NY on July 5, 1975 and the first owner's name is in a printed area on the last page of the manual. The original keys and dealer key fob are still with the bike (key number written in owner's manual matches 2 of the keys on the key fob...ignition switch was changed at some point and uses a different key...ignition switch could easily be recoded to match the orig keys again). The story when I bought it was that the bike had been sitting for about 15-20 years in a garage in NY...it wasn't a good storage environment due to moisture. This bike needs nearly everything to be cosmetically repaired...the seat needs a replacement cover, everything that's chrome or aluminum is corroded, the gauges are faded and aged, the gas tank is dented, the left sidecover is broken, the airbox has a hole in it, the rear rim is rusted and will need replacement, both fenders have bad chrome, the mirrors and handlebar need to be replaced due to chrome issues, the gas cap is heavily aged, rear tire needs to be replaced, and the Bassani exhaust is rusted and needs replaced. The good news is that it's a matching numbers bike, the wiring has never been messed with and is complete and in good shape, the frame is solid and not rusted (and doesn't appear to have ever been tweaked in an accident). there are yellow factory inspection marks everywhere on this bike, it has a nice aftermarket backrest to keep the woman from falling off, and it still has its original Koito headlight (rare to find one that still has both beams working). The bike starts right up, has great power, doesn't smoke, and all of its electricals work (rear turn signals were removed at some point...I don't have them). I have onwed a lot of motorcycles, and I don't think this one has any engine issues (relatively low miles and pulls like a freight train after it's warmed up). It is painted apricot metalflake red, a one year only color that would be strikingly beautiful if redone. I am 55 years-old and have a 5 month old son...my younger fiancee says "no motorcycles", or I would keep it and slowly restore it. I'm selling it cheap to get it out of the garage and make my fiancee happier (note...are they ever REALLY completely happy?). I prefer for it to be picked up from my home in the metro Columbus, OH area (I'm just 2 miles off I-70), but will ship it if that's what the new buyer wants to do (buyer makes all arrangements and has 45 days to get it out of here). I will provide a notarized title at the time of sale. A down-payment of $250 is required within 48 hours of the close of the auction, and I will refund it if you get here and I have misrepresented the bike (note...670 perfect feedbacks for me). No refund of down payment if buyer never shows up and then wants to back out of the deal. I will allow the buyer to test ride the bike around my neighborhood, but there is no plate on the bike and no insurance on it...buyer must show a valid motorcycle endorsed license to ride it. No guarantees on this bike...it's 38 years old. There are enough decent used parts available on Ebay that it could be made into a nice looking street bike for not very much money...it hasn't been cut up and abused like so many others on here. Good luck and happy bidding!
