STARTING PRICE REDUCED - After reviewing all of my costs to get this vehicle ready for sale, they were a little less than anticipated so I am able to reduce my starting price. This is your chance to get a great deal on a great vehicle. I bought this vehicle from a co-worker to help him since he needed to sell it and didn't have any money to make any of the recommended repairs. This gives you the opportunity to save some serious money. Very Low Miles: Had only 37,957 at time of photo/ listing. (REVISED 6/30/2013 6:43PM) I have been driving the vehicle around locally to make sure everything is okay. Miles at time of completion of sale will probably be around 38,030 to 38,050. Vehicle will not be driven once auction has been completed. I'm starting the price out at what I absolutely need to get out of it after the repairs and re-conditioning (see comments below) and I'll let you decide what the real value is. Kelly Blue Book Dealer Retail Value in Excellent condition is $19,679 Kelly Blue Book Private Party Retail in Excellent Condition is $17,729 Kelly Blue Book Private Party Retail in Very Good Condition is $17,279 Kelly Blue Book Private Party Retail in Good Condition is $16,879 Kelly Blue Book Private Party Retail in Fair Condition is $15,529 NADA Clean Retail Value is $16,875 When I purchased the car it needed a few things done to make it right and this is what I have done: NEW TIRES INSTALLED - 4, mounted and balanced - The front tires were a bit worn, and since this is a 4WD/AWD vehicle it is always recommended to replace tires in sets of 4. Obviously the previous owner did not spend the few extra dollars to rotate the tires during oil changes, something that should always be done. ALL NEW BRAKES FRONT AND REAR ( new pads, cleaned and lubricated, etc.) - Front brakes were worn to the point that they needed to be replaced and the back brakes were within a short time of needing to be replaced and I am a firm believer that nothing is more important than safe brakes - ALL NEW ROTORS INSTALLED - When changing the brakes on a car, it is always recommended to change the rotors at the same time as today's modern rotors either can't be resurfaced or become too thin after resurfacing making them more subject to warping. As such, I did the right thing, besides, new rotors don't cost much more than the cost to resurface. NEW BATTERY with genuine Toyota "TrueStart" Installed by Toyota Dealer NEW AIR FILTERS Replaced Air Filter and Cabin Filter NEW OIL & FILTER Had Toyota Dealer perform Lube, Oil and Filter change Recharged Air Conditioning system for maximum efficiency Had Toyota Dealer perform Full Detail All factory Safety Recalls or Service Campaigns were completed ( Install label kit on rear suspension and specialized lubricant on master power window switch) Replaced broken fog light assembly on front right Replaced front and rear wiper blades. So, the good news is that you are buying a very low mileage, clean vehicle with all new brakes and tires, oil changed, air filters changed, new battery and wiper blades and detailed. All the things you know you would do to any used car you bought if you had the time and the money. So what's the catch? Why is it being sold so inexpensively? The answer is simple. Every once in a while when you start the engine, it puffs out a bit of blue smoke. Not all the time, just some of the time ( about once out of every five-ten starts from what I can see ). According to my local mechanic, he thinks it's not a big deal and is most likely the valve guides. The car runs very strong and there are no check engine lights or other issues that I can see. The person I bought the car from did not have the money to make any of these repairs. Bottom line is that I have invested all that I can in helping out my co-worker so I'm leaving this last item up to you to determine how to handle it. You can buy the car and repair it, you can buy the car and drive it the way it is, or you can buy the car and invest some of your savings in a high quality comprehensive extended warranty from a company like WarrantyDirect.com and let them handle the repair some time in the future. I'm just being straight with you. Odds are if you came to see the vehicle for a test drive it wouldn't do it and you would never have know until after you bought it, but I'm a straight shooter and I'm not trying to take advantage of anyone. This vehicle will require some engine work in the future, when, is up to you. The overall cosmetic condition of the vehicle is really good. Only a few minor chips or scratches, one small hardly noticeable ding (see photos) and no real damage anywhere other than the fog light which is being replaced. Inside is pretty clean but I do not know if it was ever smoked in. The previous owner did have dog and the car has a minor dog smell from it but I am working on clearing that out now so you might not smell it by the time you get it. So there you have it, your chance to get a great vehicle at a great price. For all of the reasons stated above, and because I am not a dealer, this vehicle is being sold strictly AS-IS.
