Vehicle Detail

A GREAT CONDITION VEHICLE FOR A RESTORE I am selling my 1974 VW Thing ( project car ) due to a move where I will no longer have the room to build. I found this THING in very good condition a perfect restore car that has next to no body rust, just the standard floor board rust in spots. The chassis looks great as with the body. I have the front fender for replacement and a new convertible frame and top. The car does not have an engine and requires a 1600 VW dual port to be original. When acquiring a VW Thing they are normally pretty rough and rusted these days, and I have done one that I spent an enormous amount of time on the body work. In this case YOU WILL NOT have to do that. All of the doors are there, windows, door knobs, etc. The car was preserved very well when I pulled it out of a storage barn a few years back. Please note this is not a driver and needs and engine to be one, and hopefully it will go to an enthusiast such as myself that will put her back on the road in the condition she left it back in the day. This car must be picked up at my storage garage in Sebring Florida. If you would like to speak with me I can be contacted Monday - Friday 9:30 - 5:30 Est. 863 699-1231 ask for Tony Sr. On Jun-26-13 at 08:37:50 PDT, seller added the following information: OK Guy's I pulled the car out a bit this morning because I had more requests for more pictures and damaged areas. Here are the pictures as asked for. Things I noticed: Dent is the left rear corner, it looks like one of the owners did make some patches in a couple areas under the right side door. The floor boards have holes in areas behind the front drivers seat, and a couple in front of the seat. The rest of the body looks real good especially the front and back. The seats are in place and the bumpers are in the car. If I sound as if I don't know anything about this car I had purchased it from a good friend ( avid VW restorer ) who found it for me as he knows that I only like to restore good cars with little rust at best. I gave it a quick once over when I got it a few years back and then put it into my work shop in the corner for down the road. This morning I went over it pretty good and stand by that this is a good restore project. In prospective to the many VW's I have restored in my time, to do this body right, at a quality minded paint shop I would best estimate that the cost would be between $4000. - 5000.00, now that is right, not a slop shop job. I would also say that if I were to do a frame off, replace the floor boards, give a good cleaning, put a new 1600 in it that if doing the work yourself that this car can be put back to show quality for under $10K. That gives you guys allot of room based on what a quality "THING" goes for these days restored. Please do not expect a perfect car ready for a paint job and drive it to work, they are far and few between these days, and this one is a very good find and priced right. Thanks, Tony On Jun-26-13 at 08:40:12 PDT, seller added the following information: I can't find where to upload the new pictures, ebay? Please email me if you want to see more pictures of the damaged areas. Thanks, Tony
