The 993 variation of the Porsche 911 has always been regarded as the best of the great “air-cooled” era. In particular, the 1997s were the most refined. These cars had the perfect blend of classic Porsche performance with modest creature comforts. The 1997 model year 993s were nearing the end of the air-cooled era.
This Porsche was nicely optioned from the factory and had an MSRP of over $80,000 new. Factory options included:
Metallic paint
Leather interior

Motor sound package
17” cup design wheels
Wheel center caps with Porsche crest
Supple leather front and rear

The current owner purchased the car in 2003 with 31,000 miles from a good friend of his. He took great care of the car and used it for short trips to his nearby office and weekend jaunts. The car was never abused. Recent services include:
A/C recharge (blows ice cold)
New alternator
Oil service
Carbon build up in secondary air system cleaned
60,000 mile service (spark plugs and transmission service)
New tires
New clutch
Brake system flush
New fuel and air filters
At 58,000 miles, the owner had his car completely inspected by a local independent Porsche mechanic. He performed an engine compression test, and the results were excellent:

The exterior of this 993 is in excellent condition. The paint is all-original except for the hood. Paint was checked with a paint meter. Panels have their original factory stickers and the car has never been apart. The body looks great with very minimal signs of use. There are a couple small blemishes on the left rear fender. Two spots where the clear coat is thin from removing some scratches and a feint scratch next to the soft top (see pics). The interior is equally as nice. The seats look great with no tears or rips. There is some normal wear on the driver side seat. The dash is free of cracks or warping. The top is in excellent condition as well with no fading, tears, or rips. The cables have been recently replaced. The back window is clear with no discoloration. All the gauges work properly. The door strap/stay on the driver door is damaged and needs replacing. Other than that, this is a very nice original 993 Cabriolet.
This car drives exactly how a 993 should. It is tight and responsive. It is quite evident that this Porsche was well loved. We have a large stack of receipts going back nearly 13-years.
Included with this 993 are most receipts, tonneau cover and case, original window sticker, all the books/owner’s manuals, an extra key, original spare tire, tools, air compressor, and the jack.
