Honda : CBX Description : Long story short..........purchased this bike six months ago with all intentions of parting out as it sat for last 10yrs. Had my mechanic go over it, and decided it was too complete to strip. He rebuilt the carbs, repaired 5 of 6 brass tubes in the bowls and got her up and running. Once I heard it alive again, there was no turning back.... I have receipts for just under 2300.00 this month - New Fork seals, Stator, front and rear caliper rebuild, master cylinder rebuild system flush... Repair charging system...After all that and the carbs - bike has an oil leak coming from the shaft collar. This seal must be installed from the inside out.. Mechanic was able to modify the seal and install from outer case. There is a slight scoring on the shaft - producing an oil leak. I was told there are a few different ways to repair - could braze and smooth finish - enough not to rip new seal, or machine a collar to slide over shaft. Either way, Im done putting anymore money into this beast. To finish her up, tank could use a flushing, and a new paint job. Paint was redone some years ago, totally faded out. No dents or missing parts on tank or fender / side covers. Shes all there, If I dont get my bottom line, stay tuned for the parting out fire sale!!
