He hadn't owned a motorcycle for many years and is close to retirement so 2 years ago, he decided to try biking again and purchased this bike from a local fella - it has served him well! When he bought it, he took it in to the local honda shop right away to have a complete service check and everything was great. He putzed around the first year here - close to home and got a good feel for riding again... took a few small trips over to the Mississippi River but nothing too far away. Last summer (2012) he was invited to go on a longer ride. We live in Iowa & the trip took him over to the east coast. He road through the Smokey Mountains & did the famous "Dragon's Tail" and saw Grandfather Mountain.... he had A BLAST!! Last summer, in preparation for his trip, he replaced a few things (he didn't want to have ANY TROUBLE on the road)..... TIRES WATER PUMP VOLTAGE REGULATOR BATTERY BRAKES & FLUID His ride was "trouble free" !! Features of this bike include: 2 tone burgundy red Custom Burgundy Red Seat Markland Floor Boards Markland Highway Boards (pegs) Heal-Toe Shift Combination CB/RADIO/CASSETTE on-board suspension adjustment system LCD Digital Instrumentation 5 Speed Transmission Trailer Hitch- wired for trailer use!! Original Owner's Manuals (2) Dunlop 3 Elite Tires (1 year old) 57,110 miles (Mileage may be slightly more if Dad rides at all before selling) Dad has decided upon retirement that he would like a newer model - they seem a little easier for him to handle.... This is the only reason he is selling! We have a Clear Iowa title in hand and ready to transfer to new owner. Bike was serviced this spring ... new coolant & new oil & filter ... Started right up after winter storage! RUNS GREAT!!! This is a Very Clean Bike - No Leaks - Well Maintained by dad & the previous owner. Previous owner sold it as he had moved up from Texas & wasn't getting it ridden like he wanted, but rode it every day until moving. It is a reliable ride! Starts right up and will be ready to go on any trip you want to take!! Again, it is wired for trailer use so if you have a trailer (or get one) you will be all set! The paint is great - the chrome shows very little pitting/staining. No tears in seat or bags. All locks work. Tires have less than 4k on them & should last another season or two, depending on how much you ride... Battery should last a good long while (just a season old) The luggage racks are handy too! There are a couple of flaws that do not affect the ride in any way! ** Front Fairing has two cracks and the wind deflector is missing a piece - (SEE PHOTOS) These were there when dad bought the bike. There is also a scuff on the top edge of rear saddlebag. And she does have a couple minor nicks - nothing major and NO RUST! just normal dings from riding! ** Radio TUNER does not allow for station changing... (Also purchased this way) The cassette player & CB work just fine. Both speakers work just fine. Dad didn't fix the radio as he ran his mp3 player through the cassette player - then we got him XM Radio - so tuning in a local radio station wasn't that big of a deal to him... If you plan to run XM or have a MP3 Player & a cassette adapter, you will have all the music you need!! Any questions, please email! SHIPPING WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF BUYER We have this bike listed locally and reserve the right to end auction early upon local sale.
