Vehicle Detail
1978 Dodge Power Wagon 440 “Warlock” stepside shortbed I’m told this is a very rare truck, but I haven’t found any production numbers to know just how rare. Please enlighten me if you know. This is not just a 1978 Dodge Power Wagon 4x4, its also a rare “Warlock Edition” with the biggest most powerful engine option that was available, the BIG BLOCK 440 four barrel. The truck is still sporting the original paint and interior. In fact...its really all original down to the air-cleaner. The body is in better than average shape with minor rust issues. The divers side floor has rust and a piece of tin or something in place covering the hole. The passenger side is original and is in good solid shape. The inner fender bed has a strip of rust and the passenger rear fender has some rust around the inner edges. But this truck is NO rust bucket and NO Bondo or filler has been seen. The interior is really quite nice. The original seats are near mint as you can see. It has a factory steering wheel like you would get in a Cuda muscle car. I think that was part of the Warlock package. The original door panels are also in very nice shape. The carpet is intact but should be dyed or replaced. The dash is very nice. There are a few small cracks on the glove box door up high. The truck hasn’t been on the road since 2006. It was running when parked with a slipping transmission. The truck comes with a replacement 727 transmission from another Power Wagon. Or rebuild the original. The original 440 should run with fresh fuel and a battery. I did drop a battery in it and it did crank over and sounds as it should. The truck has 98k original miles. It also has a four position transfer case with low, low “LOK,” high, and HIGH “LOK.” Pretty cool! The truck also has power steering and power disc brakes and a wood bed floor. This is an awesome vintage muscle truck to restore. I don’t think it will take much to get her on the road. If you’ve got questions, I’ve got answers. Please write or call Houston Wills 210-548-1310 in San Antonio Texas between 9am-7pm CST. Thanks very much!
