Vehicle Detail
This is a 1940 Chevy for sale. The owner is an acquaintance of mine. He's not good with computers. I am good with computers so I put this online for him. Here is what he told me about his 1940 Chevy Truck: About the Truck: This is a 1940 1/2 Ton Chevy Pickup. Everything on this truck is original - and it still runs like new! The engine is original. The transmission is original. It's all steel - there is no fiberglass. You won't find a spec of rust anywhere on this truck. The odometer reads 16,638. I believe it is the original miles, but I don't have documentation to prove it. I drive it 100 miles per year and change the oil myself. It has a 4-speed manual transmission and always starts up in 2nd. You "run" the air conditioning by removing the front window. I am selling it to make room in my heated barn for an RV. (I have two daughters but neither one of them are interested in it so it's up for sale.) The truck is located in Queensbury, New York. Queensbury is near Lake George in the Adirondacks. It's just 4 hours from New York City, but a World away! It had a frame up restoration about 15 years ago. It has drum brakes which were redone. About Chicken Toe Farms: You might recognize the painting on the doors from the Hollywood Movie called "The Notebook." The movie opens with a man they call "Duke" reading to an elderly woman who is suffering from dementia. The dementia prevents her from recognizing Duke as the man she was in love with as a teenager. One evening while reading his notebook she has a moment of clarity. She realizes that he is reading the story of how they first met. Later the two of them pass away peacefully in eachother's arms. The female star, played by Rachel McAdams and later, by Gena Rowland, grew up on Chicken Toe Farms in the movie. My Mother passed away from Alzheimers. So, in her honor, I had an artist paint the Chicken Toe Farms logo on the truck. I'd like this truck to go to somebody who will take care of it like I did. Good luck bidding - there's lots of pictures to look at. I'm happy to answer any questions you have. Below is a slide show of 50+ pictures of the car.
