Original 1966 Dodge ChargerBought from original family. No Reserve. The Car Will Sell!1966 Dodge Charger (XP29E)Original 318 EnginePower SteeringAir ConditioningClean Title I purchased car from the family that purchased the car new in 1966. A great candidate for daily diver or restoration. Car will need work before it can be driven.I bought this car earlier this year in Arkansas. It was a one family owned and unrestored. The car is sold “as is” and is detailed with pictures and details below.History Car was originally bought in Virginia (see dealer tag on deck-lid). That owner moved to Dallas in the Mid-Seventies and drove the car until it was given to his Sister in the late-Seventies to early-Eighties. The car was then passed on to the Son of the Sister of the original owner. He drove the car throughout the eighties and nineties as a second car. He painted the car in its current color in the late eighties/early nineties and kept the car in running/drivable condition. He parked it sometime in the nineties and kept it garaged until he gave it to his step-son a few early ago. Current Condition Engine/Trans/Mechanicals: The car is as depicted in the pictures. Car has over 140,000 miles on it. Odometer stopped working according to last driver in mid-nineties, just prior to the car being parked. The car was not running when I got it, but after adjusting the points, cleaning the spark plugs, correcting the spark plug firing order, fixing the accelerator pump in the carb, I was able to get the engine to run. The engine appears to run good and idles/revs in park fairly smoothly. The engine registers normal oil pressure on the cars gauge. The thermostat opens-up when the engine reaches its operating temperature and the cooling fluid flows in the radiator. The muffler system (single) looks intact and does not sound as if it’s leaking. The car does have 140,000+ original miles on it and has not been driven on the road, so there are no guarantees (i.e., the engine will most likely be worn internally appropriate to its age). The transmission seems to be fine, and will move as necessary in forward/reverse. Previous driver said it was rebuilt just prior to parking the car in the nineties. I have not taken this car on the road. All the engine accessories work; good power steering, good alternator (charges) and descent belts. Car has a good radiator and A/C condenser. The condenser looks like it was replaced along with a re-cored radiator. The battery as pictured is not included, but another working battery is installed. The A/C system does not function, but is under pressure with Freon. The blower motor works. Brakes: Brakes need work. The brakes need to be completely gone through. The car will stop when moved, but the brake pedal is hard. Owner said he replaced the master cylinder in the last 6 monthsSuspension: I am not sure about the front end or the suspension, since I have not driven the Car on the road. I have some receipts from the 90’s that show some front end work (ball joints, etc.). Tires: Tires are over20 years old and need replacing Exterior: Speaking to the previous owner, the car was painted once around 20-25 years ago. The paint job is poor. There are a few spots where there are some rust bubbles coming through, but they are minimal based on the number or years ago this was painted. These spots are all the traditional trouble areas with 1966 Dodge Chargers. Additionally, it appears that he lower passenger Quarter panel had been repaired in the past and is cracking(see pic). This is the worst exterior part of the car. The back window leaks, but does not appear to be rusted and the rear window trim is missing. Also, the trunk is slightly rusted in two small areas. I believe it would need two small patches to repair. Floor pans appear to be solid. However, I cannot guarantee what is under the paint, since there is no way to know without removing the paint. Glass is in good shape with the exception of the Windshield (cracked). All the exterior trim (except rear window) is intact with some minor denting. Top passenger fender trim is heavily dented. Rotating headlights do not operate, but all parts appear to be intact (relays, limit switches and motors).Interior: Electroluminescence works for all gauges. Does not work for A/C, radio and shifter. Speedometer, Tachometer and Gas Gauge do not appear to function. Seats, carpet and door panels are in fairly good shape. The passenger seat and Center console pad each have a small tear.CAR HAS A CLEAN TITLE AND SOLD “AS IS”Do not Bid if you have zero feedback.
