Vehicle Detail

I bought this car last year year from a fella who bought it from a dealer. It appeared to have sat since 2008 based on the safety sticker I removed. Before that it appeared to come from proud owners as evidenced by the history of paperwork found the in the glove box. It has had a nice repaint in the past and is still in fairly good condition with various nicks. The only apparent damage is superficial to the left door and front fender. There no evidence that this car has ever been wrecked or rusted. Though it was registered in a flood zone around the time of Katrina, there is no sign this car has been flooded. I found some fresh water in the spare tire well, but no rust and easily cleaned up as per picture. Still has donut spare. Moisture in the car flash rusted bare metal under the dash and left a bit of musty smell, but should clean up with a good deep shampoo. The tire tread is good but they are cracked. Will need new tires before hitting the open road. This is a 90's Dodge, meaning some of the plastic interior is broken and the console box top is warped up. Wipers, windows, lights, signals and most all work. Rear hatch struts are worthless. Headlight doors don't operate automatically, typical controller failure. The radio barely works, did not try cassette. Fuel gauge does not always work. The mileage reads about 80k, but the odometer does not work. I suspect a solid 100k. It appeared to be fairly original until the last owner. Previous owner installed a rebuild cylinder head and it is clean when observed with the valve cover removed. He also rebuilt the turbo, upped the injectors and made other changes to raise the to boost to 15lbs setup by a local hotrod shop. It is very fast when the turbo kicks in for a paltry Dodge 2.2 liter. It will pop an ECU light, but the shop told me that was normal response to their program. Only problem is, the short block was not rebuilt and that is too much boost for an old bottom end. It rattled on acceleration and I found a bad rod bearing. The crank was no worse for the wear, I polished the journal and installed all new rod bearings. I didn't plasti gauge the journals, but they all miked about the same and I left good enough be. The crank thrust bearing was a bit rough and I changed them as well except the rear main (could not access it with out major work.) Installed a new oil pump as well and holds normal oil pressure. It kicked a puff a smoke after romping it once in a while, but hasn't done that since I worked on the bottom end. Regardless, I expect the short block will be rebuilt anyways in due time. I drove this car over two hours from the buyer's location and after working on the bottom end I would be inclined to drive it anywhere, but that is no guarantee. I've never registered the car and put any miles on it. Clear Texas title in my name. AC is all there and hooked up but does not operate. Broken RF turn signal lens. Flange cracked top of LR taillight lens, but I have an extra set that goes with the car. $500 Paypal deposit required within 24 hours of auction close. Payment in full required in 7 days.
