Vehicle Detail

0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false 1969 Lincoln Continental 4 Door Sedan, "Suicide Doors" My ‘69 Lincoln Continental is flat black. The interior is all original with tan, gold & brown. It has 110,257 miles. New alternator, voltage regulator, wipers, fresh oil change & air filter. The car has A/C, I have never put a belt on it to see if it works or not. Included are photo's of the underside hood, deck lid and the door jambs to show the original paint with virtually no rust. The power brakes, locks, steering, AT, wipers, heater, defroster, headlamps (both low beam and high beam) and turn signals all work flawlessly as they should. Interior lamps, dash lamps and dimmer work as well. This cars 460 4V runs strong, and the car is very solid. The floors and rails have ZERO rust. The exterior of the car was painted a few years ago; the flat black holds its age well. There is some bodywork cracking on the front header panel roughly the size of a baseball & the front of the left fender; and it is just that, "cracked". I don't see it unless I wash the car; you don't notice it much because of the color, but its there. I can hear the power seat switch operating the motor, but the seat doesn’t move. The only rust is at the very lower areas of the rear quarter panels. One area of the left and right quarter panels at the front lower edge (in front of the tire, just above the rocker panel), and a small area at the lower area of the right rear quarter panel. If you could drive a cloud, this is what it would feel like; there is no such thing as a "speed bump" with this car; it floats over bumps. The car is really fun to drive and I get compliments wherever I go. It's hard to beat the sound, the rumbling that comes out of the exhaust of that huge big block motor. If you have to pass a car on the open highway, its not an issue at all with 365 horsepower to pull you along. It is a very cool car, and I kind of don't want to sell it; but with 4 other vehicles, I don't have a choice; I'm just out of room.I have taken several photos so you can judge the condition. Feel free to contact me anytime with questions; I will be more than happy to answer.Fly to my house and drive it home, or have it shipped. There are several shipping companies to choose from listed here on eBay; I am happy to keep in communication with shipper, meet them at my house, etc...I prefer PayPal or cash, but will accept Money Order, Cashiers Check or Personal Check. All funds must clear before my title in hand or car is released. 1969 Lincoln Continental In the days when bigger meant better, Lincoln Continental had all the bases covered. It was completely full-size, longer, wider, heavier and grander than other cars. In 1961, the Continental was completely redesigned by Elwood Engel. For the first time, the names Lincoln and Continental would be paired together The new Lincoln was still heavier than anything from Cadillac or Imperial. This solid construction led to a rather enviable reputation as "Corporate management was determined to make it the finest mass-produced domestic automobile of its time and did so." This generation of Continental is favored by collectors and has appeared in many motion pictures, such as “Goldfinger”, “The Matrix”, “The Last Action Hero”, “Kalifornia” and the “Inspector Gadget” films. It has also appeared in the television series “Pushing Daisies” in the opening sequence of the television series “Entourage” and as the vehicle of choice for Michael Chiklis's character Vincent Savino in the series, “Vegas”. 1969 was the last production year with rear-opening "suicide doors". 1969 Lincoln Continental Introduction Date: September 27, 1968 Weight: 5185 Pounds Total Built: 29,351 Engine Code: A ~ 460 CID V-8 Bore and Stroke: 4.36 x 3.85 inches Compression Ratio: 10.50:1 Brake Horsepower: 365 @ 4600 rpm Torque: 485 lb.-ft. @ 2800 rpm Carburetor: Autolite 4V (C8VF-9510J) Brakes: Dual hydraulic system Front: Self-adjusting ventilated disc Rear: Drum type Wheelbase: 126 inches Dimensions: Length: 224.2 inches Width: 79.7 inches Trunk: 18.0 cubic feet Fuel Tank: 25 gallons 1969 was the first year for: - New 460 engine was standard at model introduction - Front seat head rests became standard on January 1, 1969 1969 was the last year for: - Center-opening rear doors - Unit body construction - Rear Defogger with Environmental Control option 1969 Lincoln Continental 4 Door Sedan Thanks For Looking! On Apr-22-13 at 10:31:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I live in Boise Idaho if you would like to check shipping quotes. Here are some more photos of the damaged areas so there is no confusion about the state of this car. The car drives great as stated, but it is by no means a show car; it’s a driver. If you’re looking for one to rebuild or drive, this is an awesome car; if you’re expecting it to be a new car; its not. It’s a 44 year old survivor that’s a blast do drive around town. Pretty clean for never having been restored. Three of the doors power windows work with a little “help”. You have to pull down on the window as you operate the switch; the door trim panels need taken off so you can clean and lube the window tracks. I think the driver’s door more than likely needs a new switch to get it to work, but I’m not sure. It could be wiring, a fuse, etc… The radio comes on, but wont pick up any stations; more than likely due to the fact that there is no antenna mounted on the fender. The heater will sweat you out of the car no matter what temperature it is outside. The power brakes stop the car amazingly well; and the power steering is effortless. Again, the car runs and drives great, it’s just not a show car; the reserve price reflects that. Thanks again for looking.
