F/S 1989 Jetta GLi 1.8 16V 5 Spd w/ original Recaro interior NO RESERVE!! Relisted due to a bidder who didn't follow through. Fail to pay/ Fail to communicate?! Please don't bid if you do not intend to pay! I bought the car in 2005 as a parts donor, but now I have too many other projects. I drove it home from Aurora, IL to Plainfield in 2005 and it's been parked since. No parts have been removed, except for the stock steel wheels. The transmission appears to have been rebuilt at some point and other than small spots of surface rust, it’s solid. The dash lights don't work, headliner is coming down in rear, and the D/F window does not go up straight without help. The MFA stalk is broken, but I will include the used spare I bought. Battery is dead and engine will turn over, but it didn't start on 03-30-2013. The shock towers are rust free. The hood has primer overspray on it from another project and the sunroof has a small rust spot on it. Both front door handles are loose, driver’s front handle is new. Windows have been tinted by the previous owner and I swapped four newer 14" VW steel wheels onto the car, otherwise this car is stock with 136,496 miles. I’m not trying to be negative, just accurate: it's in really good shape for a 24 year old car, but THIS IS A NON RUNNING PROJECT THAT CANNOT BE DRIVEN HOME FROM MY DRIVEWAY. It will likely be up and running easily, but it needs work and I’m not sure what it needs to run. I have the clear Illinois title in my name in hand.
