1963 Studebaker Avanti, R-2 supercharged V8, auto trans with floor shift, power steering, power disc brakes, only 3834 Avanti made in 1963, R-2 with auto trans only 909, only 128 red R-2 with auto trans. So it is rare. My Mom always said don't bite off more than you can chew, well I have more than I can chew, I some how ended up with 6 Studebakers, about 4 more than I need. I am not getting much work done to any of them, so some have to go. I bought this Avanti not running. The car has sat in the Arizona sun for over 20 years. I changed the oil and filter, cleaned the spark plugs, rebuilt the carb. It started right up, it sounds really good. The blower was blowing air, but I took the belt off it to see how it turned and decided to turned harder than it should so I didn't put the belt back on. This car needs a full restoration. The brakes don't work, the body is very good with one small crack on the front fender. The trunk cable will not open the trunk so who knows what is in there. The Avanti come with a new dash and heater control valve. I don't see any rust out any where, the hog troughs look good, the frame looks good but does have some scale. I need to make some room in my garage, I can't even move in there. I will be putting another Rare Studebaker up for sale soon. I need $1000.00 deposit by Paypal within 24 hours.
