Vehicle Detail

Hello, I’m selling my 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax Crew Cab 4x4. I have owned this truck (in Texas) since day one and it has been very good to me over the years. All maintenance records were logged and the majority of general repairs/fluid changes were done by me. Since 2004 I have always used Shell Rotella T 15w 40 motor oil, Mobile 1 Synthetic 75-90 for the front/rear axles and Wix filters. I let the local auto lube place nearby take care of the Coolant and transmission flushes. This truck has never been in an accident and the body/frame is in excellent condition. The Texas title for my truck is clean and clear, there are NO liens against it. The Engine/Transmission/Axles have not been modified in any way. I never added any type of programmer or high performance parts to the drive train. (Other than a K&N air filter) At 105K miles I added a 4” Rancho Suspension Lift Kit with 20”x12” USA Forged wheels and Nitto Terra Grappler tires. Recently (4k miles ago) I put on a new set of 325/60 R20 Nitto Terra Grappler tires and added a full size matching spare wheel & tire that fits under the truck in the factory location. In late 2011 I completely renovated the interior with Heat/Sound Insulation throughout the entire cab and doors, New carpet, Headliner, All new foam padding for the seats and finished it off with Dark Graphite Katzkin leather. The Truck also comes with AMP electric steps, Viper Alarm with Remote Start and much more. Please see below for complete aftermarket accessory details. Kelly Blue book places this truck between $15,189 and $17,639 I will start the bidding at $16,000 with no reserve! If you are buying from out of state I will gladly meet you at the DFW airport, its only 25 miles from my home. Thanks for looking and feel free to message me if you need any additional details or pictures. 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 HD 4WD Crew Cab VIN: 1GTHK23224F193535 Mileage: 178,112 6.6L Duramax Diesel (LLY Engine) 5 SPD Allison Auto Transmission Exterior: Silver Birch Metallic Interior: Katzkin Dark Graphite Leather Standard Equipment: Driver and passenger Air BagsAuto Control Halogen HeadlampsDaytime Running Lamps Passlock Theft Deter Ignition Front Head Restraints RR Outboard Head Restraints Front Recovery Hooks 4-Wheel Anti-Lock Disc Brakes Stamped Rear Rails Hi-Temp Wax Coating Hydroformed Front Rails Rollformed MID Rails Tinted Solar-Ray Glass INT-Color Carpet and Mats Seat Mounted Safety Belts Engine Hour Meter Driver Information Center Tilt Steering WheelBolt Wheel Hubs Trailer Wire Harness Options Installed: SLE DECOR includes:Dual Power Heated Outside Rearview MirrorsRear Window DefoggerDeep Tint GlassFront Fog LampsElectronic Speed ControlPower Locks & WindowsRemote Keyless Entry with Theft AlarmInside Rearview Mirror with Compass & TempLeather Wrapped Steering WheelBody Side Moldings Heavy Duty Power Package Includes: Duramax Diesel 6600 V8 Engine (LLY)Allison 5 Speed Automatic TransmissionLocking Differential Rear AxleFront Reclining Bucket Seat with Power Driver Seat AdjusterOnStar Communication SystemAM/FM Stereo W/CD, Cassette and BOSE Speaker SystemXM Satellite RadioOutside Rear View Camper MirrorHeavy Duty Trailering EquipmentElectronic Shift Transfer CaseAir Conditioning Dual Zone AutomaticSteering Wheel Radio ControlsOff-Road Skid PlateRear Axle - 3.73 RatioEngine Block Heater Aftermarket accessory details: Stylin Billet front grillProdigy Brake ControllerCustom molded Xenarc 1020TSV 10.1" TFT LCD Touch screen Monitor with Apple lightning VGA adaptor.Merchant Automotive Transfer Case Pump Upgrade Kit with rear housing (@89,708 miles on 10/09/2007)Rancho 4” suspension lift Kit (@105,177 miles on 05/03/2008)MOOG Inner/Outer, Lower/Upper and pitman arm (@105,177 miles on 05/03/2008)20x10 American Eagle - USA Forged “501 Patriot” Wheels & Nitto Tires (@105,177 miles)Gorilla Wheel LocksJimmi' Jammer™ In-door lock protection on front Driver and passenger door handles. The Suspension lift kit from Rancho is a great lift. It’s not too stiff and not too soft so I would say it’s a perfect fit. I really didn’t notice a big difference between the stock ride and once the lift was put on. Before the lift kit I had E Rated Michelin LTX tires and I used to tow a wakeboard boat to the Lake in the summers (2004-2005). I also towed a travel trailer once a year from Mansfield to the Guadalupe River about 200 miles from my home. Once I put the lift kit on with the new tires, I could only find them as high as a D rated tire. With the forged wheels and D rated tires from Nitto I didn’t have any issues pulling a travel trailer. The last time my truck pulled a trailer was in 2008 and 2009 after the lift kit was installed. I didn’t have any issues towing a 30 foot bumper pull travel trailer on our annual camping trip. I really didn’t use my truck a lot for towing but I’m confident that if you have a trailer that is equal to a 30 foot bumper pull trailer it won’t be an issue. The Nitto Terra Grappler tires on my truck are rated at 3195 Lbs @ 50PSI for each tire. With the larger tires, did you adjust the speedometer? Since I have not made any adjustments to the computer, the larger tires do affect the speedometer. When the Speedometer is reading 60MPH, the truck is actually going 70MPH. I verified this using a GPS unit on the highway when I put the tires on it. Does it pull to either side when driving/breaking and when driving straight, is the steering wheel oriented correctly? The steering wheel is straight going down the road. I had the truck aligned after I put the lift kit and new tires on it. The alignment is near perfect, the truck does not pull left or right when driving or breaking. The last set of Nitto Terra grapplers wore very evenly and I had them rotated every 2nd or 3rd oil change. Can you estimate the fuel mileage? I would say City driving is between 14 and 16 MPG. Highway is about 17-18 MPG. Usually when the Fuel light comes on it takes about 21 gallons to fill it back up. Since the Speedo is not accurate I cannot gauge the precise calculations. In the back seat, are there places for child seat lanyards or would I need to use the seatbelt? There are seat lanyards for all 3 positions in the back seat. I have 2 kids and used them frequently for the passenger and middle positions of the back seat. You do not have to use the seatbelt to secure a carseat. On the roof of the topper it looks in a couple of your pictures like there is maybe a track for cross bars. Is that correct? On the Leer topper, there are 4 fixed landing pads that you can add cross rails to. I never used this feature so I don’t have the rails that make it functional. I think the landing pads are from Thule or Yakima but I’m not 100% sure. And finally, if a deal can be struck, what forms of payment do you prefer? $500 Deposit due within 24 hours of auction close. All financing or funds in place to complete transaction within 7 days. Cash is always best for this type of sale and the buyer will meet with me at my Bank (Chase) to complete the transaction. *** If you are paying with a Cashiers Check or Money order, I will not hand over the keys and title to my truck until the funds clear into my account. No Exceptions to this! If you are coming from out of town, be prepared to wait for funding to clear. Thank you Have you had any overheating, injector, or motor issues with this truck? No issues to date. The engine has never overheated on me and I've never had any injector issues. The last major issue I had with the engine was that the Turbo went out at 35,000 miles and the GMC dealership replaced it under warranty. While it was in for warranty work at 35k miles they also replaced the glow plug control module. Ever since then I've had no issues with the engine. Also, my truck does not leak any oil on the driveway. Why did you replace the interior? Between 2009 and 2011 I let my two bloodhounds ride in the back seat. I didn’t have the Leer shell on my truck during this time and was a little nervous about letting them ride in the bed of the truck. Over the years my two hound dogs destroyed the cloth and foam in the back seat. Once I replaced the interior I put on the Leer shell and they rode back there from then on. The inside of the truck is like new again, no traces of any dog or odor. Have you ever taken the truck off-roading or went mudding in this truck? No, I have never taken this truck “off-roading” or tested its capability despite the lift kit and 35 inch tires. The only off-road this truck has seen are a few gravel roads out in the West Texas country getting to our hunting lease.
