A friend of mine found this bike for me in SoCal approximately two years ago. It was still owned by the original owner.On November 26 1963 John and Beatrice Chapman walked into Dan's Cycle in Lompoc California looking for reliable yet fun transportation. The original sales brochure must have been mesmerizing to the Chapman's because they priced out nearly every model available, finally deciding on the $660.00 out the door CA77! The original registration and owners manual are included with the motorcycle as is the Black California tag (believed to be original, but cannot be verified). I had two new tires installed along with some service work before shipping it to me in Miami Florida where it currently resides. All the paint looks to be original with its share of light scratches and a small ding or two. Some of the chrome has been re-plated but the majority looks to be original. I have a current California title in my name. The down side is that it is currently not running. It was running very good and then I parked it for the last six months. I'm sure its something small but I'm not a classic motorcycle mechanic and I do not know of any reputable ones local to me. The bike only has 5,142 miles showing on the odometer which I believe to be accurate. "Lost in the garage" bikes like this are becoming more and more difficult to find these days, especially on the East Coast. I can assist in loading the bike for shipment but the actual shipping is your responsibility.
