Vehicle Detail
We are Berry Bros General Contractors and we are changing out some of our trucks. Please read the entire posting before pacing a bid…This truck has been used off road, in the oil and gas industry, since we purchased it August 2010 and has been usedoff road, up in the mountains, until about 6 months ago. When the truck had approximately 102,000 miles the engine spun a rod bearing, I purchased a used motor form a wrecked 2010 F-350 that had only 17,000 miles on it and had a local shop install it for us. After the installation we had an overheating problem, the shop said it needed a new oil cooler which was replaced and it still had the same problem. We took it back to the shop and they said the oil cooler was bad again, they replaced it again flushing out the engine and it still has the same problem, we just parked it and did not check it out any further. The truck sat for about 6-7 months and I went out and turned the key on, it went through the heat cycle like normal and as soon as I turned it to start it fired right up and sounded amazing, it is quiet and smooth and sounds like a new engine. Even in heavy traffic the truck runs like a new truck, the engine and transmission feels great. When driving this truck at 65MPH it runs normal without any problems, plenty of power and sounds smooth and quiet, you can drive it all day long without any problems what so ever. If you drive it 75mph, or pull a trailer, the temperature gage will run normal for about 5 minutes and then jump, within a second, into the red zone and goes into limp mode. If you pull over for a couple minutes and let it idle, it falls back down to normal. I drove this truck about 150 miles yesterday and this happened twice, each time I was over 65MPH, the second time I opened the hood and put my hand on the engine and it felt normal, not hot like the gage said. I am not sure what is wrong with it but the engine was not overheating but the gage said it was.The trucks runs good around town and down the highway, the steering wheel is off center a little but the truck does not pull to the left or right, still being off center tells me the front end needs aligned. When traveling down the highway it kind of follows the dips and cracks in the road which tells me the shocks are worn out.The body has small dents and scratches, supermarket dings, in the doors and the hood has a lot of rock chips in the paint. The front seat is torn on the driver’s and passenger’s side, the door panels and dash are real dirty and need a deep cleaning. The tires were put on new right before we parked it and the brakes feel good. The 4X4 feels good with no unusual noise.I am sure to have missed something since I am not the driver of this vehicle. Please take time to check it out before bidding, I would prefer that you take a look at it in person or have someone come check it out. This is not a perfect truck it is an oilfield truck.Even though I have sold trucks outright in the past for cash, we have decided, as a company, to sell our trucks to the highest bidder only. There will be no reserve on any of our vehicles and I will not end the auction early for anyone.Thank you and good luck. This vehicle is sold as is with no warranty.Buyer is responsible for 100% of any transportation cost, taxes, and insurance. Please contact me with any questions.Jim ThumaTransportation coordinatorBerry Bros General Contractors970.379.6104Jim.thuma@bbgci.com
