Vehicle Detail

1978.5 Suzuki RM250C2 This is the half year in between version of the 1978 RM250 that includes updates such as aluminum swingarm and plastic tank. I purchased this bike from a friend in 2009, added Race Tech emulators in the forks and Works Performance shocks and raced a couple of AHRMA races and Mid Ohio VMD on it. I then tore the bike down over the winter just to go through it all and never got around to finishing it until now! I sort of lost interest in these older bikes and have been having fun racing post vintage bikes from the late 80's with more suspension. This bike was built as a racer but is still very nice. I'd love to keep it and just hang it on the wall in the shop! Here is a current status:frame blasted, inspected, primed, and painted with semi-gloss automotive paintforks rebuilt with new seals and bushings, Race Tech emulators and stiffer springs installedWorks Performance shocks with 5 rides on themmotor lower end gone through, all bearings and seals replaced with OEM parts. Crank rod bearing is fine and was not replaced.motor topend ported by Eric Gorr and bored to .50 over with fresh Wiseco piston/ringsstock pipe with custom made aluminum rebuildable silencerWorks Connection peg wideners welded on to create wider foot pegsnew OEM front brake, clutch, rear brake cables. Motion Pro throttle.chain and sprockets not brand new, but in good shapeDC plastics fenders and translucent side panels. OEM front number platesteel clutch plates and stiffer springs (clutch a little stiff to pull)tires not new but good shaperims are stock with gold anodize spray on thembrand new OEM swingarm bearingsThis bike is not even broken in yet! I have heat-cycled it a couple times and run it through the gears just to make sure everything was mechanically ok. Brakes work very good, motor runs good. I have tried to represent everything as best as I can. Please feel free to contact me with any questions! I have this bike listed locally for sale and may end the auction if it sells locally. Local pickup available near Cleveland, Ohio. I cannot provide shipping but if buyer would like to arrange shipping I would be more than happy to assist if I can. Title - This bike does not have a title as Ohio did not require them for off-road bikes until 1999. I can provide a notarized bill of sale to the buyer. On Mar-09-13 at 15:36:07 PST, seller added the following information: **UPDATE** -- I noticed a small crack in the expansion chamber of the exhaust pipe today. However, I have a spare pipe that I will toss in with the bike. I forgot to mention in the original listing that I do have some extra parts - cases, misc tranny gears, clutch basket, pipe, cylinder (with a broken fin), maybe some more stuff I have to dig around.
