Vehicle Detail

montiicristo Store No reserve. This is a 1972 Mercedes Benz 280se, 6 cylinder, automatic, a low 88,382 miles, comes with a clear Massachusetts title and passed inspection November 2012. The title is in the previous owners name as I have not put it on the road. This car is being garaged in York, Maine and will either need a jump start or towed since it has been stored all winter. I will describe this vehicle to the best of my ability and tell you all I know. Any questions at all: please email me with a phone number and I will call you back, shortly. I find it is is better to have a conversation prior to buying vehicles on Ebay and I welcome that. I want to give you all the information I can and I want it to be a win-win for both. Please keep in mind this is a 41 year old vehicle. This car is more of a Sunday driver or excellent restoration candidate as opposed to a daily driver as currently constituted. This is being re-listed; the last "winning bidder" had zero feedback, lived overseas and never responded. (Scam-a-rama) Please: If you do not have a ebay rating contact me before you bid to discuss. Recent maintenance from the previous owner included: New brakes, muffler, oil change, plugs, fuel filter, reverse light. THE CHALLENGES: The front part of the frame is rusted at the corners, (in front of the wheels) looks to be Mickey Moused, (see pics) and may need attention depending on what your intentions are. There appears to be a small crack on one of the exhaust pipes, which could simply be addressed with muffler tape. The paint is flaked on the hood, roof, and trunk (pics). The good news is; this is an easy, economical sand and prep, lots of room to work, no need to remove and chrome, etc. There is surface rust on the top of the fenders by the headlights and a few small rust spots on vehicle (pics). The two front power windows can slip when going up/down. The rear windows work fine. The dash cover is cracked, the “infamous” defrost wood trim is in tough shape, and the wood trim on the two front windows could be replaced. Needs dash light. A/C needs a charge. THE GOOD STUFF: This car just passed inspection, starts every time, has a smooth idle, is a driver and runs well. The floors are in excellent shape (pics) as well as the trunk. New muffler and brakes. The chrome is in very good condition. The interior, seats are in very good condition (small tear on drivers, pic). The headliner is in very good shape, except for a small “M&M” size hole, and the rear is pulling off slightly. Four matching Toyo tires with better than 75 % tread. THE PLAY: Everything is here depending what you want to put into it. You can drive as is, or sand down the body areas described, paint and take care of some minor things for short money. This is an excellent opportunity to own a Mercedes 280SE. I have to sell or I will trade in so, opportunity knocks!. Bid to win with NO RESERVE! Thank you and good luck- Any questions please feel free to contact me. If you are local and would like to inspect the vehicle, please contact me to arrange. This is an “AS IS” sale, and no warranties are stated or implied. 25% deposit of winning bid due within 48 hours. Payment in full due within 3 days of winning bid. Paypal, bank check or cash, only. Please contact me with any questions.
