Vehicle Detail

1967 R69S Certainly the prettiest 1960's BMW I have ever seen. It is simply a work of art. Seller was a collector of BMW cycles and this is his favorite bike. Specifics: 1967 BMW R69S; Matching numbers on frame and engine; Original delivery included the large gas tank; No dents, no damageNever in the rain since restoration.Items included in restoration include: New stainless steal spokes on Achront rims, New tires. New front and rear bushing. All new rubber, New glass and bezel on speddo and tack plus complete rebuild. New harness. New seals, grommets, bearings, fuel line, gaskets, swing arm and wheel EFS&T, bolt kits, screw head cap damper, rubber rings for gear box, rubber sleeve for carbs, battery pad, strap and battery, new deep oil pan, two new valve covers, front axle EFS&T ss and rear axle pss, and on and on and on. Lists of parts added will be enclosed! The Hella light is New Old Stock and was found in its original box. The Denfeld seat is New Old Stock and was also in its original packing. The seat has never been used and is attached to a correct BMW luggage rack that was on the bike. The Tachometer is another rare period accessory. The bike has some accessories that are not concours. i.e.: the BMW badges on the tank have SS rings which are not period and the air cleaner was not chromed. The bars are European which add to the sexy look. (what can I say -- "sex sells!) Of my many bikes this bike always made everyone stop. It is spectacular! The bike was recently throughly gone over by San Diego BMW. It has a new battery and does start on one kick. One item I do not like is that I find the gear shift hard to handle. San Diego BMW said they did not have a problem but it is not easy for me to figure it out. The paint is in excellent + condition but it is not a full concours paint. ie: it is a very nice paint job for a factory bike of the period. It is not a 2013 state of the art artificial 10 coat acrylic! However, I will say it looks great! I have probably ridden this bike 30 miles in the last 5 years and perhaps 2 miles since the overhaul. I am selling for some personal reasons. First a woman ran a red light and took off my shoulder and although I operate fine riding is now something that is not smart. Second; my drivers license says I am 30 years older than I feel and my daughters have a fit every time I talk of pushing the envelope. I have a reserve but it is reasonable and below what I feel the bike will sell for. Anyone owning this bike will love it! Good luck with your bidding and if you do have questions please feel free to email me and I will get back to you quickly. Shipping from my home in Fl to CA ran $600+ but I shipping an old car as well. My last shipping of a bike to Australia ran around $800 but you should check before thinking these are current prices. Good Luck John
