I purchased this car new in 2002 with the European Delivery program - I picked up the car in Munich. This car has been kept its whole life in a car port in Northern California (near Palo Alto). No rust at all. All service performed by either BMW service or Portola Valley Garage - a top local garage. The heated seats are a true luxury. The air conditioner works perfectly. The car is "tight" and drives really well. The sports package makes this the best handling station wagon on the market. The car is in very good condition with no dents or dings. The interior is in excellent condition with no damage to the black leather interior or carpets. If you live locally, feel free to contact me for a test drive. The car drives wonderfully. Like any car of this age, there are a few imperfections: 1. The right side rear window shade does not function - not really a problem because most people don't even use the shades2. The vent grille for the rear AC/heat is damaged so you can't aim the vent properly3. The front cup holders don't work4. Minor paint chips, especially on the rear tailgate5.
