Vehicle Detail

I am selling my daily driver, a 2000 Ford F-250 XLT with a 6.8L V10 gas engine. This truck has been excellent to me! It has been in my family since it was brand new and has gone through two drivers, my father and myself. My father drove this truck from its purchase in 2000 up until 2005. I have driven it from 2005 until today. When I moved away after graduating college, the title was transferred into my name. As I have been with this truck through its entire life, it is my goal to address every issue I can in this listing to make sure that YOU, the buyer, know everything you need to know to make an informed purchasing decision! I welcome all buyers to ask as many questions as they want and utilize a pre-purchase inspection service to put their mind at ease. The exterior is a very attractive red. The interior is charcoal gray. The front seats are captain's chairs with armrests and a center storage console with removable CD tray and coin sorter. The driver's armrest may need to be tightened as it doesn't rest in place properly. This vehicle is smoke-free! The interior is upholstered and carpeted with moderate signs of use. There are some small holes and stains on some of the upholstery, but all five seats are still in good condition. The A/C feels great. It cools down quickly in the summer and heats right up in the winter. To assist with warm-up in the winter, this truck has a factory-installed freeze plug block heater. The plug is accessible through the front bumper. It takes about 2-3 hours to heat the block and it makes starting in the winter even easier. To reduce wear on the engine, I have used the block heater as often as I could. This truck has an in-cab 4WD selector switch to choose between 2WD, 4WD, and 4WD Low-gear. The front locking wheel hubs have been replaced with aftermarket Warn locking hubs. I have replaced the factory CD player with an aftermarket JVC unit with a detachable faceplate and a 3.5mm Aux In port for MP3 players. It also plays MP3 CDs. Radio reception is great and the stock speakers put out a nice, clean sound. I will also throw in my front set of WeatherTech Digital-Fit floor mats. They are custom fit to the exact layout of the truck and add an extra layer of interior protection against dirt, grime, water, and snow. The only hauling that has been done with this truck is a small enclosed cargo trailer and a car trailer. On a few occasions I have used this truck to pull stranded vehicles out of snowdrifts and ditches. This truck has NEVER been outfitted with a plow or any other engine- or body-stressing equipment. There is mild to moderate scratching on the paint in some places, and both rear fenders have rust. The rear passenger fender is very rusted along the wheel well, while the rear driver side fender is in better condition, but still beginning to rust. I have done my best to show scratches, dents, and rust in the pictures that accompany this listing. The truck has had one accident. It was in a front-end collision where I rear-ended another vehicle. It was fully repaired under insurance back to factory spec and there was no frame damage. You will find this information documented on the free vehicle history report provided by eBay. The motor puts out a very good amount of horsepower and torque and has a reasonably responsive throttle for a truck of its size. The engine has not been "performance"-tuned or modified, and all replacement parts are OEM with the exception of a K&N air filter and an Optima Red-Top battery that was replaced in the summer of 2011. There are a few "normal wear" parts that may need to be replaced on this truck, or are close to needing replacement - mainly left and right ball joints ($100 in parts) and brakes. The steering wheel has some play, but it may just be due to the age of the vehicle. The nut on the steering box may need to be tightened to tighten up the steering wheel. The front tires have some tread left, but the rear tires are nearing replacement. I have adjusted the price of the vehicle accordingly and will ignore all attempts at lowballing. I'm in no hurry to sell this vehicle. I get a fairly consistent 10MPG in the city and under gentle driving conditions I can hit 14MPG on the highway. In my experience, towing and hauling has not had a very large impact on fuel economy. This truck would make an excellent work truck or farm vehicle - it cranks well, runs nicely, and has been good to me on a daily basis. Buyer will be responsible for arranging shipping or pickup and all cost associated.
