The R129 body style introduced from 1989-2001, went through many changes in its existence. Europe got many engines, in 1995 though this car specifically was set appart from prior models, by having an electric ododmeter instead of a mechanical one, the car now came with the option of having a portable cell phone with voice dialing, clear turn signal indicators, and a Bose Sound System with Rear speakers and active subwoofer.

It is a well known fact that Dianna, Princess of Wales, in 1991 Ordered an SL as her personal car, which set the Royal Family into a spin. It was the first time British Royalty was driving a foreign car, instead of supporting the home team. In defiance of the Royal Family, she later was forced to return it to Mercedes Benz in 1992, where the car is still held.

This car is a true gem. It has had only ONE PRIVATE OWNER. It has been in Houston, since being purchased new, and has been well kept. The older couple that owned the car only let it go, as they were down sizing their place and did not have enough parking in the garage, and would have to park on the street as an extra car. The car drives flawlessly, some would argue that it has not even broken in yet, i would tend to agree. The top opens and closes fine, a slight mishap that occured was when the top was opened after the car had been sitting up for a while, the Lt rear plastic window cracked as it had become brittle. The other windows are fine. We have an estimate to replace the 3 windows for 1250.00, but are going to leave it and see if the new owner wants it done, if so at an extra cost we will be happy to handle it. The hardtop was kept in storage, and from the humidity that we have in Houston, does show ware on the headliner as seen in the pics, we have not had that estimated as of yet...but can do if so desired. It is just coming loose no tares or holes or anything of that sort, just unglued.

All electricals, work perfect, all interior components are original, and in excellent condition. All items work from what we have seen. The tires are Pirelli P6000, and we think they are original as well. The tread life is still 85% or better, and no side wall cracking is visible. This car also has the plastic on the protable handset cradle still there as new, the cd changer is in the trunk and the magazine is there as well. The spare tire is untouched, and the tag is still there on the cover as well... see the pics.

10 way power seats, auto day/night rear view mirror, and automatic pop up roll bar finish the car off with its options, and all work perfect.
