Vehicle Detail
Hello and thank you for looking at our auction. We bought this van from the original owner in September 2012 for our daughter who, to our disappointment, purchased another vehicle on her own even though she knew we were looking for one for her. Since we don't have any use for a second vehicle, we are selling it again. When we got the van, we took it to our Ford dealer next door to have it inspected and serviced. They checked it out and it was safe, none of the known issue. They did all the recalls (I believe 12 of them) and replaced tons of parts. We had a major tune up done, including all fluids and filter changed (engine/coolant/transmission/air filter/interior filter). The front drive axles were cleaned, repacked and new boots installed. New brakes (rotors/pads/shoes) all around. New wiper blades. Rear tires are new, front ones are close to legal treat and should be replaced in the close future (235/60-16). There are no known issues when we took it to a few long distance drives to visit family out of state. In city driving we get a occaisionally check engine light for running lean. Our dealer said it does not have original Ford Motorcraft spark plug wires (and probably not Platinum spark plugs either). They wanted $300 for it, our local shop knows how to change the plugs from underneath, so the intake does not have to come off. He quoted $125 including parts. The speedometer needle is broken in half, we do not know why, there is no visible damage to the cluster. The van runs great, steering wheel is straight, it does not pull, transmission shifts fine. No known issues there. Has adjustable power pedals and a sonar rear backup system, also tire pressuring monitor and traction control. The interior is like new, there are no cracks or rips anywhere. It has some small rust on one rocker panel and a small hole in the other, and a dent/scratches on the right rear quarter panel which was touched up, no rust there. The unfortunately usual little scratches and tiny dings, that's it. Captain chairs with build in cup holders in the center, they fold down and each has a build in table in its back. Rear couch reclines and has shopping bag hooks build in, we used them once, they really work. Regarding equipment, we don't really know, it has a ton of stuff. All original Ford OEM including the build in alarm. All power of course, dual front airbags and dual side airbags. Dual heat and air with individual controls in the center console and separate controls in the rear. Entertainment system with flip down screen and VCR in center console. The control panel in it has plugs for plugging in DVD or other players, game station and headphones. Has original floor mats in the front. We do not know what else. Some items did not work when we got it, I had to replace fuses and they all started working, but there might still be some which need to be replaced. For us it was important that it runs great, and it does a fantastic job in heating. The original owner told us that he never used the driver side sliding door. We managed to get it open, you have to pull hard on the handle. I put some silicone spray on it and it works better, but still stiff despite not being used for more than 10 years. The passenger side mirror has a crack in the bottom of the housing and it appears the glass was changed at some point in time. The LED turn signal indicator is there and works, but the glass does not have the holes in it so that the LED can shine thru. So you only see the orange LED flashing in between the housing and the glass. It has new running boards and a new trailer hitch on it, which was never used. The van is complete, everything is there, 2 PATS keys, 2 FOBS, all manuals, remote for entertainment system, spare tire (mechanism works fine), wheel jack. I took as many pictures as I was able to before the snow hits. If you want more detailed pictures of something, please let us know. You can pay us with credit card thru Paypal, but in this case we expect you to cover the fee we are being charged. If you want to buy it and pay with your tax refund, you can leave the vehicle here, we have full coverage, so no worries if it was being damaged. In this case we expect a $100 deposit. That should be all. Please let us know if you have any questions. On Feb-04-13 at 04:09:33 PST, seller added the following information: Update: Due to the large number of zero (0) feedback bidders (bidding across many other vehicles at the same time), I do not accept bids from them anymore. If you have less than 10 positive feedback's, you have to contact me first to verify your eBay registered name and address before bids are permitted. This is necessary to keep an auction (look it up what it means) fair to those who know how it works. On Feb-05-13 at 14:03:23 PST, seller added the following information: Reoccurring questions Trailer hitch: It is new, was put on in October 2012. Never used. Class 2, maximum towing capacity 3,500 pounds (that is also the limit the van is given by Ford), hitch weight 250 pounds. 1.25" opening, comes with matching receiver (new), but no ball. Also, I was unable to find any wiring. A plug-and-play wire kit is about $55. Rear brakes: Drum brakes TPMS: Yes, factory original. No expensive sensors in wheels, Ford uses the Anti-Lock system to measure the speed of wheels, if changing (due to low air), light comes on. Roof bars: Yes, it does have 2 crossbars which can be moved independently forth and back, with knows to secure them in place. Damage to right rear quarter panes: I do not know where it came from, original owner probably told us (I know I would have asked), but don't recall. It was fairly new, we had it touched up right away to prevent any rust from forming. Entertainment system: I red the manual, way too much to explain. Basically, front and rear passengers can listen to different sources at the same time, like CD in front/radio in back or any combination in between, rear controls include search buttons for radio stations. Flip-down screen is just a flip down screen, van has a VCR (Video Cassette Recorder) in the front center console. I tried it when we got it, worked fine, now with temperatures at around 15 degree, it only works when the interior is warmed up. Rear controls have RCA plugs (Video/Audio left/Audio right) to plug in MP3 or DVD player, game station etc. Lights: No cracks in any of the lights all around (headlight/cornering lights/taillights). On Feb-06-13 at 01:31:10 PST, seller added the following information: The door ajar light is on now. I took the van for a ride and washed it (first dry day in a while). I went to the dealership and they told me that the door switches are actually build into the door latches, and that they often 'goo' up. He told me to get some bottles of WD40 and wash out the door latches in order to clean them, and then use silicone spray to lubricate them. I will do this tomorrow, just wanted to make sure everybody is aware of this situation which might not get solved and a door switch might have to be replaced. On Feb-08-13 at 03:43:37 PST, seller added the following information: Regarding more pictures (requested from underneath): There is a problem with eBays 'add pictures' function, it does not allow me to do so. Reported it to eBay yesterday, questionable they get it fixed in time. If you want the pictures then please email me your, well, email and I will send them. The van looks fantastic from underneath! Door ajar light: Had it checked out and was told it is a switch in the hatch (the only door that does not trigger the 'door open chime'. Latches are greasy and dirty, WD40 and silicone spray might do the trick. On Feb-08-13 at 12:41:39 PST, seller added the following information: Regarding right front impact (moderate damage): There is no visible damage. When we got the van, the bumper was completely loose in the right front. We had the body shop fix it the way it is supposed to be. It is all clean and they did not see any other damage. You know how it is with these plastic bumpers.
