As pre-1973 Porsche 911s have skyrocketed in value, many collectors and enthusiasts have started to look at the Porsche of the late 70’s to the late 80’s for fun affordable collectables. This 12-year period Porsche was noted for making some of the most reliable and well-built cars they had ever created…even to this day. I have countless clients who have gone 200k, 300k, even 400k miles on the original motor. They are built like tanks. Of all of these cars, the ones referred to as the “G50” cars have become the most desirable. From 1987-mid 1989, Porsche stopped making their own transmissions and outsourced the job. The result was one of the most durable transmissions they had ever delivered. The most collectible and desirable of all of these G50 cars is the Speedster. With a limited production run of 823 and the production-end of that body style, these Speedsters are being heralded as a great future collectible and investment.
This Speedster was delivered new to a dealership in California. The original owner kept the car until 2005 when he sold it to the current owner with around 31,000 miles on it. The current owner was a very active PCA member particularly in the local concours scene. He has owned countless Porsches over the years and truly understands how to care for these cars. Since 2005, he has put around 10,000 miles on the car mostly attending PCA events. The oil was changed on a regular basis.

This Speedster is in excellent condition with very few signs of wear. It is obvious that this car was well cared for. The exterior looks great. The paint is all original except for the hood, which was repainted due to some small rock chips. The interior is equally as nice with no rips, tears, cracks, or unpleasant smells. The top is in excellent condition and works properly.
This Porsche comes with all the owner’s manuals, many records, spare tire (never used), jack, original tool kit, air compressor, car bra, tonneau cover, and car cover.
