Vehicle Detail
Completely Rust/Rot free 1999 Geo Metro base model 3cylinder 5-speed, manual steering/power brakes., AC. & AM/FM CD. I live in SW Tennessee and have owned the car since 2002. I bought her from a friend here locally (in North MS), he owned it for a year or 2. I think the car came from California originally but im not positive. but anyway she's been in the south away from road salt/ ocean etc.all her life. She's been garaged about 3/4ths of her life here. I did attach some pics of the underside as good as i could get. She is rust free including the control arm area known to rust on Geos. There is some rust on the muffler but thats all i could see. There is a small dent on the drivers front fender and a couple smooth (no crease) small dents along the passenger door and front fender from people leaning on it believe it or not. I believe these would pop out pretty easily. The paint is sun faded a bit on the roof just along the windshield and a little near the back hatch. I took pics but being silver it didnt really show up in the pics. The tires if i were to guess are at around 50%. The car has never been in a wreck. This has been my daily driver and the most reliable, problem free car I've ever owned, This car has never broken down or been towed. I just have too many cars now, (4 for 1 guy) as i just acquired an older low mileage sports car from my parents. I did have a timing belt installed at 110k and new front roters and a rear wheel bearing around that time. The car has been mainained all along and has new radiator hoses, distributer cap, plugs, wires, radiator flush. The brakes are fine, no squeaks or squeals and the clutch works fine. The alignment is pretty dead on straight. I just changed the plugs after 60k and the old ones looked new, no oil and no soot at all. I also changed the oil about 1000 miles ago. The car burns no oil. She also does not leak anything under the hood and there are no interior leaks. The only mechanical things i can think of is that it seems to idle a bit low (no stalling or anything) and no check engine lights, and theres a clunking noise when you push up and down on the rear drivers side. The car passes the bounce test so im not sure what it is. Its been for years so i dont notice it much anymore but maybe a bushing or something. I use the daytime running lights as headlights, another known Geo issue which is supposed to be an easy fix by the fuse box. The brights work fine as well as all other lights. She does start to vibrate a little at around 70mph. 65 is fine and 70 is OK on some road surfaces. even still i would feel confident driving this car anywhere right now. I did take her to New Orleans(400 mi) last summer and she did fine in 100 degree heat with the AC on at 70mph the whole way. The AC works but i do add probably a can of freon a month in summer. In Memphis it's 95 degrees all summer. The heat and defog work fine. I have attached pics of the interior, its in mostly good shape except the carpet is pretty stained, especially in the back seat and you can see the back seat is a little rough. The guy i bought it from had little kids back there. She does have new floor mats though and the rest of the interior is pretty clean. No funky smells. Also has an aftermarket AM/FM CD player with removable face. The doors, windows, locks all work as new. The rear side and hatch windows are tinted with film. The sides look good but the back hatch has some bubbles. Home tint job. It does its job though. She has been on many roadtrips , Dallas probably a dozen times (500 mi each way), West Virginia twice, New York once, Atlanta a few times and Nashville probably once a year as well as a couple trips to New Orleans. This is not an old junker, she has a lot of life left.On Feb-02-13 at 13:55:36 PST, seller added the following information:A few people have asked about the title. I have a clear title in my name here at the house. There are no liens on the car. Also the car will come with a Haynes repair manual and 3/4+ tank of gas. Thanks.
