The original 292-193HP 4bbl. V8 engine is free and was good when parked. The car has been here in Texas since 1972. It was sold new in New Orleans, Louisiana and came in Raven Black with Raven Black interior optioned with the power seat, 3-speed manual transmission, Town & Country radio, and porthole top. This engine is rebuild ready and said to be in running condition when parked. It will turn over. Further inspection will reveal solid original sheetmetal throughout the firewall, inner fenders, and core support. The original trim identification plate is also in place. We have the distributor and original radiator. We also have a new chromed breather assembly for this car in a box along with various bolts and fasteners needed along with the hood hinge assembly. The interior features the original dash and instruments including the Town & Country radio. The power seat and controls are intact. The upholstery is shot and this Thunderbird needs a total restoration. The original floorboards are also in place with some holes, but actually pretty solid. Have a look at the undercarriage photos below. The undercarriage features the solid original frame and bracing throughout. This is a good solid foundation for a build. The original quarter panels are intact both outer and inner with rust on the driver's side shown above. This rust-through on the driver's rocker the worst area on the car with exception of some rust holes on the front floorboards. The rust is confined to a few areas in the rocker panels as shown. The door undersides, wheel wells, inner quarters, and trunk pan are solid original. The body is original and ready for your paint and body man to disassemble and media-blast or sand. The factory bumpers and trim is in place throughout the car and exceptionally solid. It sits on the factory steel wheels. The hubcaps aren't all there, but I have two or three. You can see evidence of the original Raven Black paint along the trunk lip areas. The original trunk pan is exceptionally solid throughout and the door undersides are solid original.
