Vehicle Detail

1974 Ford Gran Torino, 351 Cleveland motor, FMX auto transmission on the column, factory AC (currently not working), 2dr, 114K miles, spent most of it's life in Southern CA and then garaged in NH, solid frame, this is not a mint car but won't take much to fix up, there is some bondo repair on rear quarters, roof where there used to be a vinyl top, and under the back seat, there are rust holes on the underside corners of the hood, new Magnum 500 wheels and Uniroyal tires, new gas tank, new battery, new solenoid, new starter, new voltage regulator, brand new parts included but not yet installed (4 KYB shocks, 4 coil springs, all front and rear suspension bushings, heater/AC fan motor), good shape but needs restoration or drive as is, runs, drives, stops, passed inspection in 2011, 2 barrel carb should probably be re-built or replaced (some hesitation when accelerating), please email for details or specific photos. Added on 1/24/13: There are rusty spots, like the bottoms of the doors but there are no holes. There is one split in the dash pad. Since I never installed the AC/heater fan, that is not working but controls work fine. I removed the original AM radio planning on installing a modern stereo but never did and I still have the original which worked when I removed it. Wipers, lights work fine. It drives, stops, shifts fine except when accelerating from a complete stop, there is some hesitation. I've been told by mechanics that the carb should be re-built or replaced. The brake master cylinder is new. There are no fluid leaks other than some transmission fluid (just a drip) from where the kickdown rod enters the transmission case, I do have the grommet for this which was never installed but is included. This is basically an all original car and no modifications have been done to the engine or transmission. The white paint you see in the photos is the original paint. I installed a new carpet a few years ago and the back seat area is mint other than the sail panels which I saw for $40 on a website. The front seat vinyl is cracked. Please ask any more questions you may have as I can't think of everything someone might want to know and place it in the ad but I will update it when specifics come to mind. Thanks for your interest. Added on 1/26/13: More photos added.
