1958 VW Beetle Up for sale here is my great classic example of a beetle. This car has been in New Mexico until about 2 years ago where it was purchased then shipped to New Jersey. Overall this car is a great driver. It runs and drives extremely well in addition to being very dependable. Here are the details: Engine:The engine is an upgraded and rebuilt 1700CC motor with dual solex carbs. It runs fantastic and has great low end power. No unusual noises or oil consumption. EMPI exhaust has some surface rust and just needs to be painted. Fires up with the first strike of the key and overall runs great. Transmission:The transmission shifts extremely well and has no issues to report. It has a EMPI short shifter which substantially shortens the throw. Brakes:The car is equipped with the original drum brakes. Overall the brakes function very well and stop great. Good pedal feedback. No pulling to left or right. No issues to report. Exterior:Since this car has been in dry climates for its lifetime the body is in fantastic conditon. The undercarriage has no rust and is in above average conditon for its age, very clean. No rust besides 3 or 4 small surface rust spots causes by paint chips. Door jams are in almost perfect condition. Weatherstripping is in good condition around all the windows. Rear bumper has some blemishes, rust spots. The paint was originally done extremely well however over time it has experienced its fair share of paint blemishes. It has cracks, nicks and other blemishes in various spots.If I were to keep the car I would get it re-painted however it still looks great from 10 feet and shines well. No dings or major dents to report.This car was driven for pleasure at every chance possible. It does have wear and tear. Pictures tell the story. Suspension:Suspension is in great condition front and rear. All bushings, shocks and components have been recently replaced. Alignment is perfect and car holds the road very well. Interior: Overall the interior could use some TLC. Its no horrible by any means however for $400.00 an entire interior kit can be bought which will make everything like new. Excellent stereo system: Alpine CD stereo with Ipod and blue tooth, alpine speakers and kicker sub. Wheels and Tires: Wheels and tires are in great shape. Decent tread and hold the road well. Conclusion:This is an extremely well built beetle. No cut corners, hacked wiring or anything of that nature. If you are looking for a driver that turns heads and need minor work this car is for you.
