Vehicle Detail

2003 Ford Crown Vic P71 Police Interceptor This car has never seen snow & has spent the majority of its life either in Florida, or Alabama. Originally a Florida State Police supervisors car. . ...Therefore it wasn't a "typical" patrol car that sat for hours idling while on duty or doing radar service. It was then used from 2006 to 2008 as a prop car when displaying muscle cars at car shows with the lights flashing and the sirens wailing!! I bought it in early 2009 & have used it to commute from Ithaca to Florence, Alabama. . .1000 miles each way 4 to 5 times a year. So now more about the car. . .. 138,000 miles on the odometer I bought it with 94,000 miles on it (there is a pix of that odometer reading) & I have changed the oil and filter every 2000 miles, serviced the transmission & rear diff every 20,000 miles. The brakes are all new & updated with ceramic pads, along with cross drilled & slotted stainless steel rotors (pictured) & all stainless lines & hoses ($1000). . ..this car has amazing braking! The rear control arms (pictured), as well as the Watts link have been replaced with aluminum billet pieces with greaseable poly bushings from METCO ($900). The shocks & struts are all new top of the line KYB units that are lifetime warranted units ($400) The P71 Sway bars (picture that shows the size comparison) have been replaced with even larger bars from Addco ($675). All of the suspension & brake upgrades were done as soon as I bought this car....so the handling has been well sorted out. Both sets of tires and rims have been load balanced each year & have Goodyear Performance tires or like new Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires mounted. . .Yes, 2 sets of P71 wheels & great tires, along with a brand new full sized spare mounted & load balanced on a new Ford P71 rim. This cop car handles like a Ferrari & sticks like glue to the road, it rides like a Cadillac, performance like a Mustang GT & has enough room in the trunk for 2 sets a golf clubs, 4 large suitcases & 3 bodies!! This P71 when parked in Alabama or New York has always been garaged & covered. Two years ago I hit a deer at about 35 mph with the original front push bars. Damage was to front area between the headlights (the "bulkhead"), I replaced the bulkhead, along with the front bumper cover and a new heavier, full cage push bar and protectors from Smitty-Bilt. Front end was checked for chassis geometry and alignment was redone just to make sure. Also installed a new grille, as well as new headlight housings and bulbs (originals were dull and yellowed). Car was very drivable after it "beat the deer to death!! (There is a picture of the damage). NO secrets!! Per usual this being a P71 Crown Vic it has. . . High performance Police Interceptor V-8 FI Modular engine 4 speed automatic transmission Oversized, high capacity radiator Engine oil cooler Transmission oil cooler Power steering oil cooler Heavier boxed frame/chassis Rear coil springs (not air bags) 200 amp alternator Huge cast aluminum reinforced front cross-member Composite & aluminum driveshaft Stainless steel dual exhaust system Steel reinforced side doors 140 MPH calibrated speedometer Cruise control (P71's don't have this option offered, I added this) Dual airbags Rubber floors Rhino front push bar & full cage Spotlight Deep tinted windows Sentry Products full prisoner cage with lexan that separates the drivers area from the rear seating area Fire extinguisher Jotto desk which houses 3 12V power supplies, PA and siren controls, as well as operational auxiliary lighting (front and rear wig-wags, strobes, & Whelen LED emergency lighting front and rear) GPS, Internet & radio antennas installed Car cover & even more upgrades I am selling this great car because I no longer commute to Alabama. By the way, when you’re driving this car......No one tailgates you, NO one shows any road rage, EVERYONE gives you the right of way, you pretty much park where you want with no hassles and law enforcement waves as you go by. Great car!! Not to be a name dropper but I own a Ferrari............This P71 won't go as fast, but it handles just as good as my Testarossa....really it does!!! 22 MPG on the highway.....at speed. Over $14000 invested and always impeccably maintained Bottom line.......the cops wish they had the upgrades this P71 has on their cruisers. I cut NO corners or used any "economy" parts in making this P71 "proper", safe, handle and go fast. If your the buyer I will expect a $500 deposit immediately via PayPal and the balance paid in full within 7 days via bank/cashiers check, or cash. I can help arrange delivery or pickup...that's easy.
