1971 Volkswagen Van Deluxe Model 7 Passenger I am selling my 1971 VW Van. It is in great condition! This van has 121,000 original miles. I bought the van in Santa Fe, NM several years ago. It had been in storage for about 5 years. I put a new battery in it and a little gas, started it up and drove to El Paso, Texas without a problem..about 325 miles. The owner told me he had the engine upgraded to a 1776 cc. Originally a 1600 dual port engine. The engine runs great, the transmission is smooth and shifts effortlessly. I have torqued the heads, adjusted the valves and changed the oil. I had the van reupholstered with original VW seatcovers. The rubber mats are all good w/ no tears or cracks. The steering is tight. All lights, electrical, horn, etc. work. I have replaced two rear Constant Velocity Joints and packed them and replaced two boots. I have replaced the door rubbers on the front, side and rear doors.The rear window rubber is weathered, but I have been unable to find the rubber with the chrome molding strip. I believe the only rubber available is the California Style, solid black rubber. I would not hesitate to drive this van anywhere. It has the original Sapphire am/fm radio, but does need a speaker. I just put new tires on it. The headliner has a few small tears, but I have a new headliner I will include. This van catches the eye of everyone when I drive it. I don't like surprises and I wouldn't want you to be surprised, so if you have questions, please ask before bidding. A non refundable $500 deposit is required within 3 days of auction's end.
