Vehicle Detail
1976 Jaguar XJ12C. Two door Silver Blue Coupe. This is one of 1,269 12 cylinder two door coupes ever built. . Many consider this one of the most beautiful and rare Jaguars there is. The car is currently at a Jaguar Service Center of 35 years. This car was serviced by them approx 35 years ago and then dropped out of sight. The car emerged from a 20 year (storage) in 2008. This was an original owner car wanting a no expense spared restoration. After examination it was decided to rebuild the V-12 engine, the transmission, the differential assembly, complete braking system, front suspension, and cooling system. Once engine rebuild was complete and upon starting the engine it was discovered that the twin fuel tanks needed replacing. Unfortunately at that point the previous owner passed away after investing approx. $35,000.00 in restoration, $27000.00 in parts alone. I bought the car at that point and have since replaced the tanks and pumps with new. I have added new XJR rims and tires shown. A list of all parts and labour breakdown can be supplied by email, all parts were new. Final tune and interior assembly is all that remains. The shop is wiling to complete for a reasonable labour rate, I however have moved on to another project and wish to pass it on to someone else who appreciates these cars. The car is located in Miami and the owner of the Jaguar Service Center is willing to speak with anyone who is seriously interested. I have set the reserve at $5000.00 which is what I purchased it for a year ago. Since I have put another 2k into tanks and wheels, my loss but I want it gone or finished. Some of the photos are from a year ago before the tanks and bumpers were installed and the rims were put on. The back rims are the only ones currently on the car as some minor adjustments need done to install the fronts. The one rear rim shot shows the tank installed although the filler cap was not yet installed. There are some minor paint chips on the car in the usual spots on the hood but there is NO RUST. The only rust found on the car was under the rear seat and has been cut out and replaced and sealed. These are a fabulous driving car as I have owned them and many Jaguars in the past. With everything new and tight on this car it will be a joy to drive to whoever is lucky enough to pick it up. Good luck bidding and if interested email me and I will answer any questions and send the replaced parts list to you by email as it does not scan well for the add. On Jan-21-13 at 17:19:59 PST, seller added the following information: NOTE To the 100s of inquiries I have gotten. This car is NOT running. It needs another 10 hours most likely to get it there. It will not be known until it is running and gotten on the road if there is anything else required which should be minimal considering the 28K in parts and rebuilds done. Everything is either new or rebuilt on the drive line so it is safe to assume it will run fine. I can send an XL file from the shop showing all that has been done and cost. I can also supply the owner of the shops phone number to SERIOUS buyers. I do not want to barage him with a ton of stupid questions about whether this is a number 10 driver or not. It should be obvious from the price it is not. That said there is a lot of value here for the right person as all the heavy lifting has been done. Sorry I dont mean to offend, I suppose I should have posted some of the questions and answers to minimize the repetition.
