Vehicle Detail

This listing is for my 1937 Plymouth PT50 Pickup hotrod with a clear title. I originally bought this truck and started restoring it several years ago. I bought the truck from another hot rodder who wanted to sell it. It was a rust free California truck and had already been blasted when I bought it. It only had one little hole in the cab corner maybe a quarter of an inch in diameter. When I came across this truck it still had an old "Good Guys" sticker on the windshield. I had done some work to it and painted the cab and doors. It was my first time painting something to that extent and the paint didn't come out quite right. The doors came out really slick but the cab should have had at least another coat as you can tell in the pictures. So I got frustrated and put the truck together anyway so I could at least drive it some before tearing it back down. However, I didn't tear back into until just about a couple of years ago. But now, I'm self-employed and trying to get my business up off the ground so I'm selling it to help fund the business. So now, about the truck...and please keep in mind the pictures showing the truck together is when I first built the truck. I now have the bed, fenders, running boards and grill shell off of the truck as I had been doing work to them recently. This truck is not currently in running condition. The bed sides were in really good shape but I cut the floor out and fabricated a new bed floor for it since the original had a bad bow in it. It has a fuel access door in the bottom of the bed to access the 16ga fuel cell. I made it to match the profile of the bed floor. The pictures will show the cab floor that I fabricated and welded in place along with a custom seat mount with drawers that slide out from underneath. The original tailgate was competely beat up so I bought a new one with the Plymouth script. I also bought a new front panel for the bed at the same time. I custom made the tailgate hinges out of stainless steel. The fenders were in really good shape and have been messaged to be even better. The spare tire well in the front fender was originally welded over but I cut it all back out and got rid of the well. I fabricated a new piece to weld back in its place for a better finish. I was getting rid of the front frame horns for the modifications that you see to the front fenders. I fabricated and welded in caps to hide the cut frame horns and recessed holes for mounting new driving lights that I have to go with it. The running boards have been smoothed. I have the hood and hood sides and they are in really good shape but I have not done any work to them. The grill shell needed quite a bit of messaging and the pictures will provide you details for that. The center piece for the grill will probably still need to be trimmed for a good fit but I have done some preliminary work to it already. I custom made the grill and had the pieces laser cut out of stainless steel. I fabricated the rear roll pan which was made to match the back of the rear fenders. Flush mount lenses have been installed in the front and back. It has new glass for the windshield and new tinted glass for the sides and rear with seals. The engine is a 350 Chevy 010 block 4-bolt main that has been bored .060 over. I had it dyno'd when it was first built and it brought 370 hp at 5000 rpm. Its a strong engine for this little truck! The engine has less than 1000 miles on it. The transmission is a 350 Turbo automatic and has been completely rebuilt and has a new stall converter. The lines for the transmission are stainless steel. Since the truck has been sitting in my garage the rear seal has been leaking and should be replaced. I have a Lokar shifter installed. The gauges are the Stewart-Warner Wings gauges. The drive shaft was professionally cut, welded and balanced. I was told from the guy that I bought the truck off of that the rear end was out of a 80's model Monte Carlo and that he had gone through it. I have not done anything to it so I can't verify what he had told me. I do know that it worked great when I had it on the road. The front suspension is a Mustang II with chrome plated coil overs. I had bought new bearings, rotors, calipers & pads for it when I first put it together. I had installed all new stainless steel brake lines with AN fittings and new proportioning valve. There is a lot of chrome but it needs dusted off. The wheels are Torque Thrust IIs and have BF Goodrich tires. It has dual exhaust with Flowmasters. The radiator I bought new and it is a Walker radiator. The ignition is all MSD. I had bought a new 20 circuit wiring harness for it in anticipation of putting power windows, locks and A/C in it but never got to. In all, I have $20k in this truck. I'm sure there are some things that I'm missing about the truck but you can email me with any questions. ***Again, please keep in mind that the pictures showing the truck together are the pictures when I first built the truck. I now have the bed, fenders, running boards and grill shell off of the truck as shown in the other pictures as I had been doing some work to them recently. It will take very little work to have this truck painted and back on the road.
