Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1963 Ford Econoline Pickup. I have owned this truck for about 3 years. Over that period of time I have brought the mechanicals back to specs, but I have done no work to the body. Except for the previous owner's application of paint, as far as I know this truck is in original condition so far as the body and chassis are concerned. The motor is not original, but the rest of the drive line is. The motor is a 200 cu. in. inline six cylinder. It came out of a 1968 Comet according to the casting numbers. These pickups came originally with either a 140 cu. in. or 170 cu. in. inline six cylinder in 1963. This truck was originally powered by a 170 cu. in. motor. Being this is an East Coast truck it does have some rust issues. Some floor panels have been riveted in by a previous owner and there are some rust holes that have not been repaired. Overall, this truck is in exceptional good condition. It does have some body putty on the doors and tailgate but by no means is this truck a rust bucket. The bed is straight as are the wheel wells. This truck was not abused over its lifetime. The truck runs and drives well. It could use a new carburetor or rebuild to smooth out the idle. All gauges and warning lights work except for the gas gauge. The fuel tank was cleaned out but not sealed. There are no fuel leaks. The timing chain, water pump, distrubutor and fuel pump have been replaced about two years ago. The truck is driven about 1200 miles a year and is garage kept since I purchased it. My reason for selling is that I need more room for other projects and I don't have the time to bring this truck back to original condition. This truck is definitely a candidate for an easy restoration to bring it back to original condition. As I said before this truck is licensed and insured and road ready. Drive it anywhere. More detailed pictures will follow in the next couple of days once the weather clears and I can take it out of the garage. If you are local and would like to look at the truck in person, feel free to contact me and make an appointment to look at the truck. Please ask all questions prior to bidding. If you have less than 10 feedbacks you must contact me before bidding. This is a used , forty-nine year old truck, so don't expect a restored beauty. It is fun to drive and most folks get a kick out of it when they see it. On Jan-16-13 at 06:02:49 PST, seller added the following information: As I believe in making sure a buyer is well informed, I would like to clarify a couple things. The mileage on this truck cannot be assumed to be original. What I listed is what shows on the odometer. The title says that the mileage shown is not actual. I have no way of knowing the actual mileage on this truck. I have added photos showing the general condition of the truck. PLEASE ask questions before bidding if you are unsure of what you are looking at. You will notice that the heater is not installed in the floor. I removed it to assess the floor condition. I covered the hole with a piece of aluminum that is held in place by adhesive caulk. No screws. I have the heater. I also have the complete battery box. The base is installed in the truck , but the top is not. Yes, there are some rust through spots around the batery box but not terribly bad. The VIN number for this truck is E10TH373710. The passenger side is in the same condition as the drivers side except for a small rust hole at the bed floor level about the size of a nickel. We are getting heavy rain and I don't take this truck out in the rain if I can help it. If you are familiar with these Econolines you know that they were used and abused and most are rust buckets, especially on the East Coast. This truck was maintained well and was not abused as you can see from the condition of the bed and the wheel wells. The previous owner painted a do-it-yourself bedliner in several years back. It did protect it pretty good but it is beginning to flake off. There is no substitute for a sprayed in bedliner. If there are any specific photos a bidder would like, contact me and I will text them to you.On Jan-16-13 at 06:12:30 PST, seller added the following information: A few other things to know. A new, stock radiator was installed when all other mechanicals were done. This truck does not over heat even in summer weather, and that is without the belly pan installed. Yes, I do have the belly pan. The oil pump was replaced also when the other mechanicals were done. All in all the truck has had about 2000 miles put on it since I did the mechanical work in late 2010 and early 2011. It also won a trophy for Diamond in the Rough as an unrestored original at one of our major car shows in the area in 2011.On Jan-17-13 at 03:52:36 PST, seller added the following information: In one of the interior pictures it shows the ignition switch hanging down. I replaced the switch but the bezel was bad so I ordered a new one.
