UPDATE: I FIXED THE STARTING PRICE TO MAKE IT LOWER, LIKE i MEANT TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE. SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION. This has to be one of the rarest production vehicles ever sold. 1983 GMC Caballero, the GMC version of the Chevrolet El Camino. With the rare 5.7 liter diesel engine. Seriously, bet you've never seen one. I've never seen another. The car/truck (cruck?) runs great. I've had it for maybe 4 years, I think I am the second owner. I bought it here on ebay from an older gentleman in Oklahoma. Flew down to OKC and drove it home. No rust, but the paint is a little faded from the sun. The engine has been rebuilt, per the prior owner (I have not verified this, but have no reason to doubt it. I mean, it's a 5.7 and it runs, so it pretty much has to have been rebuilt). This is a perfect restoration candidate, or just leave it as is and drive a reliable old car. When I got it, I did the following: New tires when, maybe 7500 miles ago.Bosch Duratherm glow plugs.Manual glow plug controller. New door seals and window felts. That's about it. Like I said, I got in it, and drove it home from Oklahoma. This wasn't some junker that needed a million things done to it before even driving. Here's what I can tell you: GoodRuns good, drives good.Body is great. It's pretty much all originalIt comes with the CB radio and sombrero for the rear-view mirror. Both were there when it came to me, and both stay with the car! Bad:Headliner is gone, seats are worn, dash is cracked, windshield is cracked.Driver door armrest just fell off the other day.The driver's side lock is aftermarket, black, and doesn't match the passenger side. I lost the key, and that cylinder was all they had. There is a short somewhere, which drains the battery. I can't find it. I remedied the problem with a solar charger, since I didn't drive it every day. With the solar charger plugged in, or if it is driven regularly, the batteries do not drain out. Transmission is slow into reverse. Goes in faster when I rev the engine. Vacuum leak?My cows dented the tailgate with their horns when I had a bag of feed in it a few years back. We have since eaten the cows. Right now, there are some cornstalks under it, I had to drive it into a corn field last week. The air conditioner does not work. I guess that's about it. The Odometer shows 33,671, but it's been rolled over once or twice. No way to know for sure. It will have a few more miles on it as I drive it sometimes, though not every day. If you have questions, let me know. I will answer them, and can get pictures of whatever you want. I take my feedback seriously, and will not misrepresent the car. I expect the same from you--please do not misrepresent your intention to purchase the car. It is in good shape, but its 29 years old, and is not a new car. It is being sold as is, where is. I will provide you with a clean South Dakota title. $500 deposit, balance within ten days. I can store the car as long as you want, but I still need to get paid within 10 days. Please, ask questions first. I have had great luck buying cars on ebay, and hope this one is as good for you as it has been for me. PS. The cow is not included.
