Vehicle Detail
Update 1/8/13 First, we want to thank everyone for the interest and the questions. I have been looking at this car more closely than ever to answer everything I've been asked. Before I list out a few items that have come to my attention, I want all potential buyers to know that neither myself nor my husband know anything about cars...this Volvo has been great at getting us around our little town but it has never been driven strenuously...we've always known it would be a fun "project" car but have come to realize it's a project we'll never take on. The car runs, it gets us from point a to point b and that's about as far as our car knowledge goes...therefore, if you buy this listing please understand that you are getting a 40 year old fixer-upper. Here is a short list of things that you should know: 1. The glove compartment door doesn't stay latched very well. 2. The trunk lid does not stay open on its own. There is a rod that a previous owner installed that helps prop it open. 3. The small driver's side window does not have a latch but has not leaked at all. 4. The leather on the seats is worn but not torn at all. The rear seats have a split seam on the top that can be seen in the photo. 5. The gas gauge does not work. 6. There seems to be a small water leak in the trunk. It is wet but there is no pooled water. I hope this gives you more information about the car. Please message us if there are any other questions we can answer. 1972 Volvo 164e for sale by owner. This car has an automatic transmission and 136k miles. Everything is original (as far as we can tell). It has been a very dependable car for running around town and always got lots of compliments. We have kept up on all the maintenance with our local mechanic and have done a few repairs (exhaust, brakes). The car is in fair condition overall - no structural damage, just superficial wear (paint, upholstery). We also have the original owner's manual. We have really enjoyed this car and would love to see it go to someone that will love it just as much. If you have any other questions, please send a message. Please note that the buyer is responsible for picking the car up or shipping it to it's final destination.
