Up for bid is my 1999 E300 turbo diesel being sold As-Is. This was my wifes car. She was ready for something newer so this car must go. It was registered and driven daily until reciently. This car needs a little TLC. That is why the opening bid is low and there is no reserve. This will make a great car for someone with some car skills. Good luck. Here are the details. Most recent improvements, I replaced all the fuel injector nozzles and glow plugs in the summer of 2011 as well as the wheel bearings and brakes on all four corners. Shortly after that I replaced all the fuel lines at the engine with OEM direct replacements and used nitrile "o"rings. They are recommended for running vegetable oil. That was my plan. But I never got set up to process the oils. Also in 2011 I had the notorious front strut towers professionally replaced. This is a big, well known, expensive problem for these cars. But this car is done. Last summer I had the radiator and ac condenser replaced after a large piece of road debri destroyed them. While the repair shop was doing this work, I had them replace the water pump, belt, and tensioner shock absorber. There is an extra set of rims which are set up with winter tires, (see pics). The summer tires are still on the car now. I believe they have at least one more summer season of tread life left on them. The rear studded winter tires need replacement now. Here is what I know the car needs. One rear passenger window motor needs replacement. The main light switch needs to be replaced. Its a big unit and has a lot of fuses on the side of it for all the lights. I was having lighting problems and investigated as much as I knew how and dicovered that this switch makes a crackling sound when moved from one mode to another and at the same time causes the lights to flicker or go out intermitently. I also removed the oil cooler and bypassed it temporarily because it sprung a leak. I found that most of these cars dont even come with oil coolers installed from the factory. I dont know why. I did buy new cooler lines and they go with the car. You would just have to buy the cooler. I will give you the old one. Maybe it can be repaired cheaper than replacing it. I never looked into it. The engine temp was the same with or without it. Lastly, as you can see in the photos, the body needs some attention around the wheel wells. I dont see any holes through the sheetmetal. But the rust is there. Other than that, the body is in good condition as far as I can tell. This car was a good dependable vehicle for my wife and got her a consistant 30mpg on the highway. Its not a beauty queen right now but it has a lot of potential for the right person.
