This one is a bit different. I started to build this as a car hauler, Big block Ford with a heavy duty 5 speed trans, 14 foot flat bed etc to haul one of my cars to ALASKA, well my brother came up with a 99 Chev 1 ton 4x4 cab and chassis, so I dropped this project and put the flatbed on the frame, better deal for me (4x4!!!). End of Story!!!! This truck is on a 1987 Ford 1 ton dually frame, I put the 55 front horns on from the shock towers forward to make the 55 a bolt on deal, it came out real nice. This gives you power steering, power disc brakes, and everything from the 87 is available at the local parts stores. The driveshaft is still the same length and the motor mounts are in the correct place. The 55 radiator sits exactly where it should on the 55 front end, so it is the best of two worlds. I restore older cars all of the time and I wanted to have a nice old looking car hauler that would look good hauling my cars to a show, well we decided to move back to ALASKA and we definately can't take em all with us. So I am selling this truck unfinished. This truck has the following NEW parts, (quite a bunch of money there) NEW clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing NEW water pump NEW HEI distributor made for the 460 Ford motor NEW WEIAND high rise intake manifold NEW Brake setup, master cyl, booster, lines etc. NEW driveline center carrier bearing, already installed NEW door glass, but not installed NEW chrome, tilt steering column I do NOT know the condition of the motor as I purchased it from someone else, (I'm being honest with you), but I did hook up a battery to it and cranked it over to get oil pressure up before I put it in the truck, (oil pressure was good). Clutch and brake swing pedals are already installed, clutch cylinder needs installing though, drill three holes and it is ready to go. It does come with two more wheels, they were removed to be able to get it on a trailer, running boards have NOT been installed, but the mounts are there, I don't usually install them until final adjustment of the cab is done. There is a complete set of new door glass,included, but, alas!! one of the regulators was bad so I did not install them, windshield is good as is the back window. All of the hard work is already done, inner fenders have been fitted to the frame etc, but as I am running out of time and have so many more projects to finish before spring, this one is gonna go. It doesn't need a whole lot of work to get it on the road and would look good haulin yer classic car to the shows.
